Ouverture de session impossible après mise à niveau 16 vers 17.10

Bien le bonjour !
Suite à une mise à niveau de Xubuntu 16 vers 17, il m'est impossible d'ouvrir une session. (Je précise, je suis de niveau débutant)
L'installation c'est bien passée, pas de messages d'erreur, puis l'ordi redémarre et c'est là que les problèmes commencent !
Sur l'écran d'accueil donc, je rentre mon mot de passe, ça charge 2 secondes (le temps d'apercevoir le logo Nvidia) et ça revient à l'écran d'accueil.
Mes identifiants sont bons, je peux me connecter en faisant Ctrl+Alt+F1.
J'ai pour le moment trouvé une solution alternative en installant l'environnement Gnome, mais bon...je préférerait ouvrir ma session Xubuntu ^^
pour info, j'ai testé la plupart des solutions indiquées ici : https://askubuntu.com/questions/759995/ … nsole-logi
Désinstaller les drivers Nvidia
Démarrer en mode recovery et réparer les paquets cassés
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
rm /home/*/.Xauthority
...
Mais rien n'a fonctionné...
Donc si une bonne âme voulait bien m'aider, cela serait fort apprécié smile

Choisis la seconde ligne proposée par le grub (advanced mode) Au besoin suis le guide (voir ma signture)
   Avec pas mal de chances, tu vas arriver a ce lien https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/recovery_mode
     avec un peu plus de chance tu vas lire "Pour forcer l'affichage de ce menu lorsque votre système Ubuntu est configuré de telle sorte qu'aucun menu ne s'affiche au démarrage, appuyez sur la touche [Échap] (ou [ESC]) ou sur la touche [⇧ Maj] (ou [⇧ Shift]) et maintenez-la enfoncée jusqu'à ce que le menu d'amorçage s'affiche. La durée pendant laquelle vous pouvez utiliser ces touches étant relativement courte, il vous faudra peut-être plusieurs essais. "
puis choisis une ligne contenant une version 16.04 et racontes

Depuis grub, je suis aller voir le mode Recovery, voici ce que j'obtiens : https://imgur.com/fPLNOiW
J'ai essayé de démarrer sur les 2 modes, mais malheureusement le problème reste.

Sans doute un autre problème causé par la mise à jour hmm
En tout cas ça ne donne rien en passant par 4.4.0-116. Après avoir validé le mot de passe, ça donne l'impression de charger quelque chose(Plusieurs écran noir qui se succèdent rapidement) avant de revenir à l'écran d'accueil.

As-tu essayé le mode recovery ? puis choisir root et regarder la place disque?

df -h   && df -i

Et si tu réinstallais la version 16.04???

Passer de la 16 à la 17.10, ce n'était effectivement pas l'idée du siècle. La 17.10 sera obsolète dans deux mois.

Deux options:

- ré-installer la 16.04 comme le suggère le post précédent.
- patienter jusqu'à la 18.04 (qui sort dans un bon mois).

Ahah oui j'avoue, j'ai fait un peu le foufou pour le coup smile
C'est pas mon ordi principal (Le principal est sous Windows), du coup j'ai installé xubuntu dessus y a quelque temps pour essayer et voir à quoi ça ressemblait un peu... hier soir je devais avoir trop de temps libre, et j'ai eu cette idée folle d'appliquer la mise à niveau pour voir ce que ça donnait, avec le résultat qu'on connaît...
Bref, si pas de réparation possible, je vais me contenter du bureau Gnome en attendant de passer à la 18.04, en espérant qu'ensuite ça refonctionne smile

La version 18.04 n'est pas si mauvaise que cela.   Le grand choix du logiciel d'affichage a été tranché. Tu peux déjà l'installer en dual boot.

J'étais loin d'imaginer que ça pouvait avoir ce type de conséquence... Mais au moins je le saurai pour la prochaine fois wink

Euhhhh....
Ben là c'est du total n'importe quoi et la seule solution est la clean install.

Déjà tu n'a pas fait une mise à niveau, mais tu as directement changé le nom de la version dans ton sources.list.

Ensuite tu as une farfouillée de PPAs, aventureux, inutiles et de toutes façons dans une autre version : xenial et il y a même du raring (sic)
Je n'ai pas tout regardé, mais je vois grub customizer qui peut tout casser, pipelight devenu inutile, une foultitude de thèmes graphiques ou d'icônes (un suffit) des PPA alors que le soft est dans les dépôts (vlc, java...)

Si j'ai bien compris, tu as en plus mélangé les environnements sur la même install, ce qu'il ne faut jamais faire car ça garantit le vautrage à terme. Pour nous le confirmer, donne : 

ls -l /usr/share/xsessions

On ne pourra pas récupérer tout çà et s'échiner sur le cadavre prendra de toutes façons des plombes alors qu'une réinstall se fait en 40 minutes. https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/reinstallation_ubuntu

Pour continuer ton test de Xubuntu, voilà l'iso de la 16.04.1 qui va bien http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.xubuntu. … -amd64.iso et dans 6 mois tu pourras faire la mise à niveau légitime en 18.04.1. (Tu ne pourras pas passer sainement à la 18.04 de ton install actuelle - qui par ailleurs devrait complètement s'écrouler)

Quand tu auras réinstallé, installe ppa-purge pour gérer tes PPA (grosso, dès que tu n'as plus besoin du PPA tu le vires.)

Hé bien, je pensais vraiment pas avoir foutu autant le bordel sur ma config hmm
Je suis quand même étonné, concernant la mise à niveau, j'ai juste modifié l'option pour être averti dès qu'une nouvelle mise à jour est disponible, suite à quoi il m'a été proposé de faire la mise à niveau. (Bon par contre quand je me suis rendu compte que ma session ne démarrait plus, j'ai ptêt fait n'importe quoi en testant des solutions trouvées sur le net ^^")
Je me suis pas rendu compte non plus des erreurs que j'avais pu faire, j'essaye justement de faire gaffe et d'essayer (la plupart du temps en tout cas) de faire les choses correctement en passant par la doc Ubuntu hmm 'fin en tout cas je ferais gaffe encore plus gaffe avec la nouvelle install' wink
Et voilà le résultat sur la commande donnée (j'ai en effet installé l'environnement Gnome pour récupérer un accès au bureau. Cela avait été conseillé à une autre personne qui rencontrait le même problème que moi)

Sauf erreur tu as même 3 environnements wink, maintenant ubuntu.destop en 17.10 ce n'est plus unity, mais là je sèche.

Ce fil est en tous cas intéressant : tu n'es pas le seul à bricoler because les vieux réflexes W$ (j'y suis passé aussi).

Maintenant, direction clean install ! tongue

Sous OS GNU/Linux il y a des communautés, l'idée par la suite est de poser la question avant de faire.

Il n'y a pas de bête question.

Par contre on ne peut rien faire pour ceux qui ne posent pas de questions.

(les deux derniers points sont issus de mon expérience pro et perso wink )

[Edit] dis nous les liens vers les conseils pour bricoler le sources.list : ceux-là doivent être pointés du doigt (sauf les miens, j'ai fait çà... et même un tuto pour en revenir : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1560921 mais j'ai un peu honte quand même ! )

Alors je ne suis pas sur de pouvoir retrouver les liens à propos du sources.list hmm Je me souviens avoir testé une réponse donnée sur un forum qui proposait d'y toucher, mais alors pour le retrouver...
Un énorme merci pour ton aide, également à tous les participants sur cette discussion, je m'en vais refaire une installation toute propre !
A l'avenir j'essayerai de d'abord venir demander ici avant de tout casser ^^

Hello !
Je reviens donner quelques nouvelles.
J'ai réinstallé Xubuntu avec la version 16.04.1, via une liveUSB créé avec Linux Live USB Creator.
J'ai suivi la méthode 1 présentée ici : https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/reinstallation_ubuntu
Bonne nouvelle, je peux lancer ma session Xubuntu, et mes fichiers ont été conservés.
Mauvaise nouvelle, je me retrouve avec une résolution de 640 x 480 et le Wifi ne fonctionne pas, alors qu'il fonctionne parfaitement pendant la procédure de réinstallation.
J'ai pu installer les pilotes graphiques en branchant le portable via ethernet, mais je ne récupère pas une résolution optimale pour autant (je suis en 1280 au lieu de 1900). J'en ai profité pour faire toutes les mises à jour possibles, mais ça ne résout pas ces problème...

Bref, je crois que je vais encore avoir besoin d'un peu d'aide big_smile

Ton sources.list est très curieux.
On va le mettre au propre :

sudo apt install --reinstall curl
curl https://repogen.simplylinux.ch/txt/xenial/sources_3cc214d9a38a3ada7f56067544e31267f2b89f97.txt | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list

Puis on va nettoyer et mettre à jour :

sudo apt clean -v
[[ $(dpkg -l | grep ^rc) ]] && sudo dpkg -P $(dpkg -l | grep ^rc | tr -s " " | cut -d " " -f 2)
sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo apt autoremove --purge

Donne tous les retours, puis redémarre.
Dans 

software-properties-gtk

regarde les pilotes proposés, prend le pilote recommandé et redémarre.

Petit retour après installation de Oibaf : J'ai désinstallé.
J'ai suivi tes explications pour l'installation (en ayant d'abord activé le pilote libre)
Après redémarrage, je me suis retrouvé avec une résolution de 640 x 480, et impossible d'en changer. Je suis donc revenu en arrière et j'ai remis le pilote propriétaire (Il y avait peut-être quelque chose à activer après l'installation de Oibaf ?)

Vraiment étrange tout ça... Je me demande si je ne ferai pas mieux d'essayer une réinstallation à zero, et en effet d'aller voir dans la section graphique si le problème persiste hmm
