Pas de GRUB au démarrage après installation d'Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Bonjour à tous,
J'ai essayé à plusieurs reprise d'installer Ubuntu 18.04 LTS en dual boot avec Windows 10 préinstallé sur mon nouveau PC portable.
C'est un ACER Swift 3 composé d'un disque SSD de 256 Go (Windows est installé dessus) et d'un disque HDD secondaire d'1 To.
J'ai une clef USB sur laquelle j'amorce pour installer l'OS.
Je pensais utiliser la fonctionnalité qui permet d'installer Ubuntu à côté de Windows, mais malheureusement, je n'ai jamais eu cette proposition d'affichée.
J'étais donc à chaque fois été obligé de passer par le partitionnement manuel.
J'ai également remarqué que, par défaut, le disque SSD n'était pas détecté lors de l'installation.
Le seul moyen pour le rendre visible était de faire la manipulation dans le BIOS pour passer en AHCI.
Dans cette configuration, l'installation d'Ubuntu et l'amorçage sur le GRUB ont fonctionné. Seul problème : impossible de faire fonctionner Windows... Et le seul moyen de le refaire fonctionner est de revenir au mode non AHCI initialement configuré. Je précise que même dans ce mode, pas de proposition d'installation à côté de Windows.
J'ai donc décidé de revenir au mode initial est d'installer Ubuntu uniquement sur le disque HDD avec pas mal de place.
Avec cette configuration, Windows fonctionne normalement et Ubuntu aussi.
Malheureusement, plus de GRUB... Le seul moyen de sélectionner un des deux OS est de passer par le BIOS, pas franchement pratique...
Je n'ai plus d'idée pour résoudre mon problème...
Si quelqu'un en a une, je suis preneur.
Je n'ai plus grand chose à perdre !

Vous voudrez peut-être re-essayer après avoir créé une partition /boot/efi (FAT32, 100MB~250MB, en début de disque, drapeau boot). Cela peut être réalisé via des outils tels que gParted. Puis sélectionnez cette partition via l'option [Partition /boot/efi séparée :] de [Boot-Repair].

Moi j'y comprends que le démarrage par défaut de l'ordi se fait sur l'entrée 0000 (ubuntu). Si tu démarres l'ordi sans toucher à rien, ça démarre sur Ubuntu. Peux-tu confirmer ?
Effectivement, tu n'as pas la possibilité de démarrer Windows en passant par le menu Grub pour la raison que Windows n'est pas détecté. Seul Ubuntu est détecté comme tu peux voir dans cet extrait :

Le seul moyen de sélectionner un des deux OS est de passer par le BIOS, pas franchement pratique...
En principe, tu dois presser la touche F12 au démarrage de l'ordi afin de faire apparaitre le Boot Menu, sélectionner l'entrée "Windows Boot Manager" pour parvenir à démarrer une session Windows 10. Peux-tu confirmer que c'est comme ça que tu pratiques ? Si c'est autrement, je te prie de détailler ta procédure.
D'autre part, ce serait utile que tu donnes le nom complet de ton modèle (du genre "Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-59J4" comme tu peux voir pour les autres Swift de la Liste des portables « Acer »)

Oui c'est exact, quand je ne touche à rien au démarrage, il boot sur Ubuntu.

Exactement, je l'ai remis sur "RST with Optane" après une tentative infructueuse en "AHCI"...

Ainsi ton modèle est bien équipé de la technologie Optane. Je viens de chercher sur la toile pour voir si "Optane" est mentionné dans les caractéristiques du modèle SF314-56G-771Y. Résultat : aucune mention de Optane (ni même de RST) y compris dans la page du site LaptopSpirit.fr - en général assez précis - sur ce modèle : https://www.laptopspirit.fr/235786/acer … leger.html
On dirait que c'est bien caché...
Il n'y a que sur cette page du site community.acer.com qui concerne exactement le même modèle que le tien que j'ai trouvé de l'info sur le sujet : https://community.acer.com/fr/discussion/comment/658797 (EDIT : c'est là que j'ai trouvé la photo du Bios dont j'ai donné le lien dans le post #4)

Donc si je comprends bien, la configuration "RST with Optane" n'est pas adaptée à un disque SSD 256 Go classique ?
C'est un problème de conception ou rien à voir ?
Je dois supprimer le même driver que lui ? La manipulation semblait risqué...

Je n'ai pas la compétence pour répondre sûrement à tes questions.
Mon point de vue, c'est qu'il n'y a pas d'autres solutions que de passer par le Boot Menu - donc par la touche F12 au démarrage de l'ordi - pour gérer ce dual-boot. Il n'y a que ton système UEFI qui sait gérer ça : le grub de Ubuntu est incapable de gérer ce dual-boot parce que ton installation Windows est invisible pour lui. Concrètement, je te suggère de ne rien modifier à ton mode opératoire actuel.
EDIT : je viens d'ajouter une ligne pour Acer Swift 3 SF314-56G-771Y dans la Liste des portables « Acer »
Pour mémoire, ce modèle - visible ici - est équipé d'un processeur Intel Core i7-8565U et d'une carte graphique NVIDIA GeForce MX150 et bien sûr de cette vacherie de technologie Optane.

[PROBLEME RESOLU]
J'ai finalement réussi à résoudre mon problème de DUAL BOOT Windows 10 / Ubuntu 18.04 LTS avec GRUB 2 au démarrage.
Initialement, le problème était que pendant l'installation d'Ubuntu, à l'étape de choix du mode de partitionnement, je n'avais pas la proposition "Installer à côté de Windows..." car l'installeur ne détectait pas Windows 10.
Il fallait alors aller dans le BIOS et basculer la configuration en AHCI. Malheureusement, avec cette configuration, plus d'accès à Windows, écran bleu avec un message "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE".
La solution était finalement de réussir à avoir accès à Windows 10 en mode AHCI.
Pour cela, j'ai suivi ce tuto à la lettre :

Pour la suite, j'ai simplement relancé l'installeur Ubuntu avec ma clef bootable et à l'étape de partitionnement, comme par miracle, la proposition "Installer à côté de Windows..." apparaît ! Je l'ai sélectionné, l'installation s'est effectuée normalement et j'ai maintenant Windows 10 et Ubuntu 18.04 LTS en DUAL BOOT avec le choix de l'OS au démarrage via GRUB 2.

Malheureusement, j'ai eu un nouveau problème (et pas des moindre), du coup j'ai du réinstaller Ubuntu à plusieurs reprise et après de nombreuses péripéties, je me retrouve avec la version 19.04 d'installée (qui n'a d'ailleurs pas résolu mon nouveau problème)...
C'est à cause du mode en veille. Lorsque je ré-ouvre mon PC portable, il reste en écran noir. Certaine fois il arrive à sortir du mode veille si je ne l'ai pas trop brusqué, mais je dois bien attendre 5 min à chaque fois... J'ai du plusieurs fois faire un redémarrage d'urgence, c'est vraiment très problématique...
Est-ce que je dois ouvrir un nouveau topic ou bien est ce que ça reste dans le thème de mon problème initial ?
Si oui, quelqu'un a une idée ?

je me retrouve avec la version 19.04 d'installée (qui n'a d'ailleurs pas résolu mon nouveau problème)...
Bien sûr que la 19.04 n'a pas résolu ton problème. Tu n'aurais pas dû abandonner la 18.04.3 qui a le même noyau et la même gestion graphique et qui a l'avantage d'être maintenue jusqu'en Avril 2023 alors que la 19.04 ne sera plus maintenue après Janvier 2020 (voir Versions d'Ubuntu)
Je te propose de fermer la présente discussion en la passant en "résolu" (*) et d'ouvrir une nouvelle discussion pour ton problème de sortie de veille.
(*) pour ce faire, je te prie de procéder comme suit :
1) te connecter sur le forum
2) cliquer sur "Modifier" en bas à droite de ton PREMIER post
