[Résolu] Dual boot Windows7 et ubuntu-18.04.4
Bonsoir,
Je souhaite avoir une alternative à Windows7 Edition Familiale Premium vendue sur un PC HP G5429fr, mais je souhaite conserver Win7.
J'ai copié sur une clé ubuntu-18.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso
A l'installation "normale + mises à jour + logiciels tiers", j'ai le message
"Aucun système d'exploitation n'a été détecté sur cet ordinateur."
Par peur de détruire la partie Win7, je n'ose aller plus loin.
J'ai cherché sur le forum, mais je n'ai pas trouvé ou pas compris la solution à donner à ce problème.

Le problème posé a été résolu au boot :
> Au moment du boot, en tapant <F10> on boot en EFI ce qui ne convient pas.
> Au moment du boot, j'ai tapé <ESC> et un autre menu est apparu qui proposait <F9> et je suis tombé sur un menu avec :
. une partie "Source de démarrage avec UEFI : USB DISK "
. une partie "Sources de démarrage héritées" (legacy) où j'ai sélectionné "USB DISK" ;
Et j'ai vu apparaitre Win7 à l'installation de UBUNTU et j'en déduis que c'est la bonne façon de faire pour booter en non-EFI.

T'as bien fait.
Ton bios est surement compatible uefi/non-uefi; or w7 est installé en mode non-uefi. Pour qu'il soit détecté lors de l'installe il te faut booter ta clef/dvd buntu aussi en non-uefi !
Cela se règle dans le bios.

Bonjour,
Pour qu'on puisse confirmer l'hypothèse de lucmars, je te prie de démarrer ton ordi sur la LiveUSB Ubuntu 18.04 avec le choix "Essayer Ubuntu" ("Try Ubuntu without installing" si c'est en anglais) afin de faire une session live depuis laquelle tu feras un Boot-info. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-info dans ta réponse.

Dans Stockage/Ordre de démarrage du BIOS, j'ai trouvé
> Source de démarrage avec UEFI : USB DISK activé.
Alors, j'ai glissé sur
> Sources de démarrage héritées
et j'ai activé USB DISK.
Accepter, Enregistrer et Quitter.
Mais à l'installation, je suis retombé sur
"Aucun système d'exploitation n'a été détecté sur cet ordinateur."
C'est ce qui était demandé ?

Comme dit Malbo fais un boot-info. T'as p'tete booté malgré tout en efi, mais tu gardes ce réglage car boot-info nous dira aussi en quel mode t'as booté ta clef/dvd

Etape suivante : comment démarrer en non-EFI ?
Je croyais avoir trouvé une piste dans la partie "Sources de démarrage héritées" du BIOS où j'ai activé USB DISK, mais ça n'a pas suffi.
Alors, que faire ? Où fouiller dans le BIOS ?

Maintenant faut s'assurer de booter la clef en non-efi (legacy, etc...). PC éteint, branche la clef, allumes le pc, presses F9 c'est le boot-menu du bios !
À son endroit tu devrais avoir deux entrées USB (pour le moins)
-USB DISK UEFI (ou du genre mais uefi)
-USB HARD DISK (en tout cas sans mention de uefi) C'est normalement la bonne entrée. Et si tu boot ainsi t'auras normalement une présentation différente qu'en mode uefi

Au moment du boot, j'ai tapé <F10> et je suis tombé sur un menu de configuration avec un onglet "Stockage", un sous-menu "Ordre de démarrage" avec :
. une partie "Source de démarrage avec UEFI : USB DISK "
. une partie "Sources de démarrage héritées" (legacy) où j'ai sélectionné "USB DISK" ;
On a vu que ça ne permettait pas de voir Win7 à l'installation de UBUNTU parce que ça faisait booter en EFI.
Sur invitation de lucmars, au moment du boot, j'ai tapé <ESC> et un autre menu est apparu qui proposait <F9> et je suis tombé sur un menu avec :
. une partie "Source de démarrage avec UEFI : USB DISK "
. une partie "Sources de démarrage héritées" (legacy) où j'ai sélectionné "USB DISK" ;
Et j'ai vu apparaitre Win7 à l'installation de UBUNTU.
Et j'en déduis que ça fait booter en non-EFI.
Il reste à partitionner le disque 1To. Pour l'instant, je vois :

sda2 ntfs 987000Mo 199000Mo (data ? )

Dans sda2 je voudrais faire une part pour ubuntu et une grande part pour stocker des données à partager entre les deux OS.

Bravo pour avoir réussi à maîtriser le démarrage en mode non-EFI.
Mais pour l'identification des partitions, ce n'est pas ça. Moi j'y vois plus clair dans cet extrait du Boot-info :

La partition sda1 (label "SYSTEM") est la partition de démarrage de Windows 7 mais le disque C: de Windows, c'est la partition sda2 dont le label est "OS". C'est cette partition sda2 qu'il va falloir faire maigrir afin de dégager de la place pour Ubuntu. Quant à la partition sda3, c'est la partition qui permet de réinstaller Windows 7 (label "HP_RECOVERY").
La première des opérations à réaliser, c'est de faire maigrir le disque C: de Windows et ça se fait depuis une session Windows 7 avec la gestion des disques comme expliqué dans ce paragraphe 3. Redimensionner la partition Windows pour faire de la place à Ubuntu. Je signale que le disque C: est actuellement occupé par environ 200 Go (on peut voir ça dans le Boot-info) donc la cure d'amaigrissement ne pourra pas être drastique. Peut-être que tu parviendras seulement à faire réduire le disque C: de moitié. Si tu souhaitais un résultat spectaculaire, il faudrait copier sur un disque dur externe les données volumineuses - les vidéos, les films - qui encombrent aujourd'hui le disque C: et supprimer ces données du disque C: (*) mais ce n'est pas obligatoire. C'est toi qui vois.
(*) après création de la partition de stockage en NTFS commune à Windows 7 et Ubuntu, tu pourrais remettre ces données dans cette partition de stockage.

J'ai donc encore sauvegardé quelques vidéos qui traînaient, conservé une partie de Mes Documents, vidé la corbeille et défragmenté la grosse partition de 920Go.
J'ai demandé au gestionnaire de disques d'y faire de la place. Il a proposé seulement 95Go alors que je pourrais y trouver dans les 700Go. J'ai accepté les 95 Go mais je trouve ça maigre.

Pour favoriser la réduction de partition Windows :
- défragmenter la partition
- désactiver l'hibernation et la mémoire virtuelle (responsable de fichiers indéplaçables)
L(hibernation et la mémoire virtuelle pourront être rétablies après la réduction de la partition
PC fixe sous Bionic 64 bits et portable avec Focal 64 bits

The settings chosen by the user will not act on the boot.On y voit dans la partie "df -Th" que tu as fait un peu de place sur ton disque C: (sda2 pour Ubuntu) : il y a 120 Go utilisés alors qu'on voit 186 Go utilisés dans le Boot-info précédent que j'ai collé dans le post #7.
Je me doutais que cette bourrique de Windows résisterait à la diminution de la taille de C: aussi je t'invite à présent à suivre les préconisations du tuto "Optimiser espace disponible pour réduction de partition Windows" : http://ikewdu.free.fr/optimiser-espace- … n-windows/

La procédure de maleka est la même que celle de ikewdu. Elle aboutit à la même indisponibilité de 0Mo.
Tu parles de points de restauration qui s'installent dans la seconde moitié du C: ; ce sont ceux que je trouve dans la partition D: HP_RECOVERY ?
Le fichier est recréé dans C: à chaque redémarrage.

Tu n'as probablement pas cliqué sur "AUCUN FICHIER D'ECHANGE"!!!!!! car il en existe un.....
HP-RECOVERY est certainement inconnu de Microsoft.. Il faudrait regarder ce qu'il y a dedans. Probablement du logiciel constructeur pour encore alourdir le fonctionnement....

D'après HP, la partition (HP_RECOVERY) D: est une petite partition du disque dur qui contient la trace de tous les logiciels installés en usine et livrés avec ce système. Parmi les informations stockées, des images du système d'exploitation Microsoft et des produits supplémentaires. En cas de problème de système d'exploitation ou de pilotes de périphériques, les programmes de la partition de restauration peuvent restaurer l'ordinateur de manière à ce qu'il retrouve un bon état de fonctionnement. Elle fait seulement 12 Go, je n'y touche pas a priori.
La partition qui pose pb, c'est la (OS) C: . C'est celle qui contient le fichier \pagefile.sys::$DATA dont je ne peux pas me débarrasser. Cette bourrique de Windows le crée à chaque démarrage.

As-tu fais cette commande en mode administratif? powercfg -h off (elle provient de windows 10 mais c'est probablement pareil en windows 7)

Ayé. J'ai trouvé.
J'ai voulu envoyer le pagefile.Sys sur mon disque externe qui est plugué sur un port USB. Mais windows n'en a jamais voulu.
Alors j'ai créé une partition de 10Go sur un espace libéré de C pour accueillir ce fichier gênant. Et ça a fonctionné. Chouette ! ( ça pourrait être mieux précisé dans les tutos).
J'ai gagné 212 Go dans la foulée. Excellent rendement, supérieur à 2000%.
Je passe au fichier suivant qui bloque 500Go. A suivre...

Je progresse, de fichier génant en fichier génant. Je gagne de la place dans C: , puis je supprime ou défragmente le fichier du dernier secteur, et je recommmence, etc...

Avec tout cet espace t'es tranquille pour linux.
Par contre, à toi de voir si tu gardes la partoche F, si oui linux s'installera dans une partition étendue, si non en tant que partition primaire (plus besoin d'une partoche swap avec la 1804) à moins que tu veuilles un /home séparé
