effectivement je l'avais vu dans le rapport
mais cela ne me dit pas ce que je peux faire
je n'ai pas beaucoup d'option dans le bios pour booter
en fait, une fois désactivé CSM Support je n'en ai plus qu'une
         ubuntu (Po : CT500MX500SSD1)

Utiliser REFIND au lieu du GRUB https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/refind . Aidez à vous faire dépanner en suivant le guide et en utilisant les outils de diagnostic J'ai perdu ma gomme. Désolé pour les fautes d'orthographes non corrigées.

La réponse se trouve dans le boot-info  à cet endroit.

Je note que malbo a dit que le processeur est trop récent pour la version 18.04.
Donc c'est encore pire pour une version plus ancienne et  bientôt plus supportée.

Un conseil:  Peut-être  que windows10 fonctionne.  Tu peux l'essayer pendant six mois, le temps que ubuntu s'améliore

Une idée,  Comme ton matériel est neuf, il ne devrait pas y avoir de problème mais on ne sait jamais
A)  Utilises ton support d'installation   et prends la fonction "essayer avant d'installer"
   puis installes l'application smartctl https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/smartmontools  paragraphe 1
   et donnes le retour de l'état du disque  paragraphe 3.1

B)  Utilises ton support d'installation   et prends la fonction "tester la memoire"
      Il me semble que cela dure pas mal de temps.

C)  Dans certains cas, il arrive que c'est une connerie d'utiliser shimX64. Je ne sais pas si le problème vient de là. mais cela vaut le coup d'y mettre grubx64.efi
   Utilises ton support d'installation   et prends la fonction "essayer avant d'installer"
  Puis passes la commande

sudo efibootmgr  --create      --disk     /dev/sda   --part   1      --label "grub" --loader      "\EFI\ubuntu\grubx64.efi"

D) J'ai vaguement compris que cela  fonctionne en mode recovery
    Mais que se passe-t-il lorsque tu vas sur "RESUME"?
   Si cela fonctionne bien, c'est un problème graphique et non un problème de processeur

   Mais cela marche assez bien, il suffit de pérenniser l'option NOMODESET paragraphe 7.10.2 de https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/kernel

je viens d'essayer avec un HDD WD10EZEX
système ubuntu 18.04lts
j'ai exactement le même problème
parfois je démarre correctement jusqu'à arriver sur le bureau
parfois je suis obligé de passer par le recovery mode
j'en conclus que cela ne viens pas du crucial ct500mx500SSD1 puisque cela fait exactement la même chose

Je fréquente assez peu ce forum, mais les problèmes posés par Raven Ridge exposés ici ont été les miens pendant plusieurs jours. Je me permet de vous soumettre mes solutions:
Matériel: AMD R5 2400G, carte mère Asrock AB350M pro, Ubuntu 18.04 ./ sur SSD Crucial, ./home sur HDD, boot en UEFI.

1) BIOS mis à jour. Une nouvelle version vient de sortir.

2) Pour démarrer Ubuntu sans trop de problèmes, passé les infos du Bios, presser la touche MAJ pour afficher Grub2, et presser la touche e. Quelques lignes s'affichent, insérer "nomodeset" sans guillemet avant "quiet splash". Sortir en pressanr CTRL X
Ceci permet de démarrer une session normale d'Ubuntu.

3) Une fois Ubuntu ouvert, installer UKUU (google). Installer le dernier kernel (4.18).

4) Installer le PPA d'Oibaff (Google) qui permet d'installer le dernier MESA pour gérer le coté vidéo.

5) Supprimer "nomodeset" du grub en l'éditant: sudo gedit /etc/default/grub suivi de sudo update-grub.

6) Redémarrer. Tout devrait fonctionner normalement.

Enfin, c'est le cas chez moi. Bon courage.

PS: cette histoire de nomodeset permet aussi de se débarrasser du double écran si on boot sur une clé USB. Je ne me souviens plus de la manip qui permet d'accéder au paramétrage du Grub.

La mise à jour du bios ne doit être envisagée qu'en dernier recours : c'est une opération qui si elle rate fait que le PC est inutilisable; une remise en état est soit très difficile, soit impossible. La probabilité de la rater est faible, mais les conséquences sont très importantes.

Le reste de la procédure devrait fonctionner sans cette mise à jour du bios.

Installation du PPA d'Oibaff et installation du dernier MESA (18.3.0):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

sudo reboot

Alors il peut s'agir de problèmes de BIOS ou de matériel.
[*][/*]Pour le BIOS, certains recommandent de désactiver SecureBoot avec Linux.

Pour le reste, ne connaissant pas Gigabyte.... ?
Et les problèmes matériels ...?!!!

Tu devrais quand même tenter l'option "nomodeset".

Si le fabricant de la carte mère publie les BIOS, c'est bien qu'il existe des problèmes d'incompatibilité ou pire, et que la mise à jour du BIOS a un sens, non ?

Voici un exemple pour une carte mère prise au hasard (j'ai pris une ASUS). J'espérai avoir une release note publiable telle quelle, ce n'est pas le cas. Pas bien grave.

Voici un résumé de la release note, que l'on peut voir sur le site du fabricant (https://www.asus.com/fr/Motherboards/PR … Desk_BIOS/) :

Quelqu'un qui a déjà un système qui fonctionne bien et qui répond à ses besoins, a t'il besoin de prendre le risque de flasher le dernier BIOS?
La réponse à cette question appartient au possesseur de la machine, le payeur c'est lui (ou elle).
Idem quand le système fonctionnait correctement et se met à ne plus fonctionner alors qu'il n'y a pas de modification matérielle.

Par contre lui conseiller de flasher le nouveau BIOS, parce que l'on voit certains le faire, sans vérifier que son problème actuel est lié à un bug du bios qui n'est pas contourné par le noyau, sans l'informer que si l'opération rate, il y a de forte chance qu'il mette sa carte mère à la poubelle (et quand c'est un portable)... Probabilité d'un problème lors du flashage : très faible. Conséquence si ça arrive : PC matériellement inutilisable. Les conseilleurs ne sont pas les payeurs.

Enfin, très souvent, l'origine du problème n'est pas connue : par exemple, ça freeze (c'est une conséquence, la cause n'est pas connu), on ne fait pas un changement en aveugle, d'autant que sous linux, les 3 causes principales de freeze (données par un autre intervenant), sont la carte graphique, un problème disque, un problème matériel...

Dans l'exemple ci-dessus, la dernière mise à jour de cette carte mère (ASUS) porte sur une "Amélioration des performances" et la prise en charge de la dernière génération des microprocesseurs Intel. Où est "le problème d'incompatibilité ou pire" (sauf si le possesseur du PC a décidé de changer son µP)

EDIT : Je précise que je ne dis pas de ne jamais flasher le BIOS. Par contre, quand quelqu'un propose à une autre personne de le faire, il se doit :
- de justifier cette manipulation, en vérifiant qu'elle est bien en lien avec le problème remonté
- d'informer la personne à qui il conseille cette manipulation des risques encourus
