Encore un problème UEFI
Hello a tous,
Apres avoir installer sans problème mes distro pendants des années, via le mbr, je me retrouve a planter toutes mes install depuis debut debut 2012 et l'arrivee de l'UEFI auquel je ne comprends absolument rien.
Bref, voici mon rapport boot-repair:

En gros, j'ai un ssd avec windows:
- sda1, 350MB, je ne me rappel plus trop de ce que c'est ntfs
- sda2; mon os windows10, env 120GB; ntfs
Un HDD avec:
-sdb1: des donnees pour windows env 850MB, ntfs
-sdb2, mon os linux, autrefois centos7 vu comme EFI, env 100GB, et sur lequel j'ai essaye d'installer ubuntu18.04
-sdb3, le swap env 8GB
Un live-usb ubuntu sur SDC
Il faut noter que je ne me rappel plus sur quel disque était installer le grub de centos avant de reessayer l'installation de ubuntu. Car boot_repair me rapporte 2 mbr, l'un sur sda l'autre sur sdb:

=> Grub Legacy is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb and looks at sector

Je ne comprends pas trop cette partie du rapport...
Apres avoir essaye d'installer ubuntu 18.04 avec le grub sur sda1, je me suis retrouver avec un boot rescue au moment de rebooter (l'install etait partie en erreur, ca avait un rapport avec uefi je crois), impossible d'utiliser aucun de mes deux OS.
Help ! comment reparer mon installation ?

Ce qui me fait extremement peur c'est de voir cette ligne dans le rapport de boot-repair:
1 disks with OS, 1 OS : 1 Linux, 0 MacOS, 0 Windows, 0 unknown type OS.
Windows not detected by os-prober on sda2.
Il se trouve que je tiens a mon windows comme a la prunelle de mes yeux, meme si je ne m'en sers pas tous les jours, comment le récuperer ?

Pour te rassuré, ton Windows est encore présent dans le disque /dev/sda.
Mais il ne peut plus démarré, car grub première partie à écrasé le MBR compatible Windows dans le secteur d'amorçage de /dev/sda.

Tu as tenté d'installer Ubuntu en mode UEFI en mode UEFI. Mais çà c'est mal passé.

Si c'est bon , on va réinstaller Ubuntu en mode Bios_Legacy dans le disque /dev/sdb en utilisant les partitions existantes, mais en rajoutant une partition bios-boot que l'on va créer en session live avec Gparted avant de réinstaller. On doit avoir cette partition avec un disque avec table de partition de type GPT ce qui est le cas du disque /sdb. Elle accueille le core.img .

Waw, merci du fond du coeur Babdu89, tu viens vraiment d'éclairer ma journée !
Grace à tes indications et quelques recherches, j'ai pu me rendre compte que je ne mettais pas correctement en mode legacy mon bios. Sur une CM Asus, il ne suffit pas de mettre a enable le mode CSM, il faut aussi changer des options attenante aux disques.

Non, pas de miracle, c'est Boot-Repair qui a réécrit un mbr compatible Windows dans le secteur d'amorçage du disque Windows.

Comme le chargeur de démarrage de ton Windows n'était pas cassé, il peut redémarrer.
Avec les outils Windows (CD d'install ou console de récup), l’équivalent de ce qu'a fait Boot-Repair c'est un fix-mbr.
Bon puisque Windows redémarre. On va te guider pour réinstaller Ubuntu comme il faut en mode Bios_Legacy (CSM) sur le disque /dev/sdb.
Comme l'installation à été commencée en mode UEFI et que çà a raté, on ne va pas tenter de réparer cette installation. On va la recommencer en mode Bios_Legacy (CSM).
Mais comme tu utilises un disque (/dev/sdb) qui à une table de partitions de type GPT, pour installé correctement Ubuntu il faut créer une partition bios-boot destinée à recevoir le core.img.

Donc, démarrer le Ubuntu que tu veux installé en session live en mode Bios_Legacy.
Ouvrir Gparted outil de partitionnement sous Linux disponible en session live.
Choisir le disque /dev/sdb.
Si il y a une petite clé ou cadenas à coté du nom des partitions du disque /sdb. Démonter les partitions et désactiver le swap
Si nécessaire...
On commence par la partition swap /dev/sdb3, on la sélectionne, un clic droit et désactiver (swapof)
Puis la partition /dev/sdb2, on la sélectionne, un clic droit démonter (umount)
On va supprimer la partition /dev/sdb2 où est installé le Ubuntu qui ne fonctionne pas.
On la sélectionne, un clic droit, Supprimer. tu valides l'opération.
Lorsque c'est fait on a un espace disque non alloué de 96 Go. montré par Gparted en gris.
Dans cet espace disque non alloué, on va créer deux partitions. Une partition bios-boot et une partition Ext4 pour l'installation.
La partition bios-boot, ne doit pas avoir de format de fichiers , une taille de 10 Mo (pas Go) et avoir le drapeau boot-bios.
La partition d'installation utilisera le reste de l'espace disque non alloué et aura un format Ext4.
Dans l'espace disque non alloué.
Un clic droit, et tu choisis "Nouveau" nouvelle partition.
Dans la fenêtre qui s'ouvre avec un graphique, un clic gauche sur le bout droit du graphique, et tu saisis la poignée à droite du graphique (un clic gauche maintenu) et tu déplaces la poignée vers la gauche pour réduire la taille de la partition à créer.
Elle doit faire 10 Mo, çà suffit.
Dans format de fichiers, tu choisis "Sans format" et tu valides.
Dans le volet du bas "Opérations en attente" tu vas voir ce que tu as paramétré pour créer la partition...
Un clic sur la grosse coche verte "Appliquer" va créer la partition.
Lorsque c'est fait, on lui met le drapeau bios-boot
Un clic droit sur la partition créée, et dans drapeau (flag) tu choisis; bios-boot (boot-bios ou bios-grub suivant ce qui est proposé.)
Tu valides, cette partition bios-boot est finie.
Pour créer la partition d'installation.
Un clic droit dans l'espace disque non alloué, tu choisis "Nouveau" nouvelle partition.
Pour la taille on ne touche pas.
Pour le format, tu choisis Ext4.
On ne met pas de drapeau çà ne sert à rien pour Grub.
Dans le volet du bas "Opérations en attente" tu vas voir ce que tu as paramétré pour créer la partition Ext4...
Un clic sur la grosse coche verte "Appliquer" va créer la partition.
Fermer Gparted.
Avant d'installer, si tu veux bien donner le retour de;
sudo fdisk -lavec un L minuscule, pour être sûr que tout est bon...

Stp, peux tu poster un screen du disque /dev/sdb vu par Gparted en session live? Merci.
Chez moi, une installation de tests sur une clé USB avec table de partition de type GPT de deux Linux .
Un Xubuntu installé /dev/sdb3 en mode UEFI, démarre en UEFI avec la partition /dev/sdb1 boot-efi.
Il démarre aussi en Bios_Legacy avec la partition /dev/sdb2 bios_grub.
Une copie d'un Ubuntu 18.04 en /dev/sdb4 qui utilise aussi la partition /dev/sdb2, pour démarrer en Bios_Legacy..
Dans Toile Libre un clic sur l'image pour agrandir.

Je regarde si j'ai le temps de faire ça ce weekend.
Mais en tout cas je confirme que l'installation de ubuntu en mode legacy a bien fonctionné.
Le mbr sur sda permet bien de booter sur la partition windows (partition msdos je crois) du disque sda1. Mais elle permet aussi de booter sur le disque sdb (partition gpt et ubuntu en ext4 sur sdb2) grace a la petite partition flaggé boot_grub.
Voili voilou, une histlire qui se termine super bien, encore merci beaucoup pour ton aide Babdu89

Bonjour.
Stp, veux tu bien refaire un boot info depuis la nouvelle installation de Ubuntu sur le disque /dev/sdb.
Çà fonctionne, mais j'ai un doute. Mais ce n'est pas grave...
Si la machine démarre sur le disque /dev/sda, et qu tu as le choix dans le menu Grub qui s'affiche, de démarrer Windows ou Ubuntu, c'est que lorsque tu as réinstallé, tu as mis la première partie de grub dans le secteur de boot du disque /dev/sda. Si c'est çà , çà a encore écrasé le MBR compatible Windows qui y était.
Normalement lorsque tu as réinstallé, c'est dans le secteur de boot du disque /dev/sdb que l'on met la première partie de Grub. Çà laisse intact le MBR Windows du disque /sda. La machine démarrant sur /sda, seul Windows démarre.
On change l'ordre de boot dans le Bios pour le mettre sur le disque /dev/sdb. Au démarrage il y a affichage du menu Grub, et tu choisis quel système démarrer.
Si tu as écrasé le MBR compatible Windows dans /sda, tu peux refaire la manip de restauration du mbr compatible Windows avec Boot-Repair installé dans ton Ubuntu. Çà remettra tout en ordre.
En Bios_Legacy. L’Intérêt d'un dual boot sur deux disques est de garder le secteur de boot pour démarrer Windows, au cas ou il y a un souci avec Ubuntu, la machine peut encore démarrer avec Windows.
On voit encore dans le dernier boot info que tu n'arrêtes pas Windows comme il faut lorsque tu l'utilises.
En dual boot, il faut prendre l'habitude d'arrêter Windows en passant par "Redémarrer" non pas par "Éteindre".
Sinon Windows se met en hibernation...

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....
