Sous XFCE (xubuntu 18.04) avec carte nvidia et driver dernier cri sur un ordinateur fixe, j'ai eu le problème de l'écran noir en sortie de veille.
Il fallait juste décocher "Verrouiller l'écran avant la mise en veille" dans les paramètres avancés de session et démarrage.

Tu es sous Gnome, alors il faut chercher dans Paramètres→Confidentialité→Verrouillage de l’écran :

gnome-control-center lock

@ Nany,

J'ai l'option "verrouiller l'écran lord de la mise en veille" qui est décochée,
mais je n'ai pas l'option "Verrouiller l'écran avant la mise en veille"

Peut-être essayer de mettre cette valeur à true :

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen true

Afin d’être sûr que ce soit bien pris en compte, ferme ta session puis rouvre la.
Puis fais le test de mise en veille et sortie de mise en veille.

Bonjour ,

ben si tu as deja essayer d' ajouter l' option nomodeset au demarrage noyau dans le GRUB , et tenter de demarrer le noyau 5.4 , si ce n' est pas deja fait non plus , pour ma part je ne vois pas trop malheureusement .

sudo sed -i 's/splash/splash acpi_sleep=s3_bios/' /etc/default/grub && sudo update-grub

Puis redémarre et teste la mise en veille.

J'avais le même problème, pas de sortie de veille, ça a été résolu en passant à la version 21.4.

Alors on va remettre le GRUB à son état d’origine. Donne le retour de :

sudo sed -i 's/ acpi_sleep=sci_force_enable//' /etc/default/grub && sudo update-grub

 
Lorsque tu sors de la veille, essaie les combinaisons de touches [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F3] puis [Alt]+[F2].

Sinon, ultime tentative, donne les retours de :

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt clean && sudo apt update
ubuntu-drivers devices

(D’après le site de nvidia, il faudrait le pilote 418.)
