alors mon instal est finie, et avant de redémarer et voir que ca ne marche pas, j'ai "continué" a tester  et je suis allé voir dans gparted ce que m'avait fait l'instal:
j'ai /dev/sda1 en systeme de fichiers grub2core.img de taille 1.00Mio avec drapeau "biosgrub"
et j'ai /dev/sda2 en ext4 en point de montage /target de taille 465Gio sans drapeau
(et une partition non alloué de 1.02Mio a la fin???)
ya une clef e symbole a coté de ma partition /dev/sda2

ce qui m'etonne c'est qu'il n'y a pas de point de montage /boot (ou hp pourrait se repréré pour me lancer ubuntu?)
mais vu que j'y connais rien...
Ne pourrais je pas (j'y connais rien!) supprimer la partition sda1 et la recréer en fat32 avec drapeau /boot comme préconnisé plsu haut, mais apres avoir fait l'installation (maintenant)?

bon je redémarre pour voir...

Et la, ben j'ai un simple message
"client MAC addr : (puis des lettre et chiffres )
dhcp ......./"

puis une page "netork not found
please check your netork connection and try again by pressing the power button
for more information, please visit ....(un lien internet sans interet je pense)"

je vais rentrer a nouveau dans le bios, enlever "démarrage EFI" et retenter de démarrer

Bonjour

je laisse alors le sda1 en Vfat, mais lui indique un point de montage /boot

Choix A. Tu  n'évoques pas cette partiion. L'installateur la trouvera puisque que tu as mis le drapeau ESP
Choix B. Tu indique la bonne valeur  /boot/efi

NOTA "La raison peut être l’absence d’un paquet logiciel.
Voici la liste des paquets logiciels nécessaires pour la prise en charge du système de fichiers fat32 : dosfstools, mtools."
se résout par la commande

sudo apt install dosfstools mtools


Pour la réparation
Relance gparted et  reformate  ta petite partition  en  FAT32 avec drapeau boot, esp
puis installe boot-repair et fais la réparation recommandée.

mille merci pour tes conseils
alors j'ai bien fait l'instal des package comme indiqué et ca a marché, ce qui m'a permis de mettre les bons drapeaux boot et ESP (car je n'avais pas ce choix EXP avant ca!)
j'ai donc fait ensuite l'instal de boot-repair, réussie
mais il n'arrive pas a réparer car il me dit qu'il faut que je stope l'utilitaire d'installation ubuntu, ce que j'ai fais mais ca semble pas marcher quand meme
j'ai donc fait un boot-info que voici

Je ne vois pas très bien où tu en ais. ( Force l'arrêt USB )
Je t'ai demandé un boot-repair avec la réparation recommandée et tu as fais un boot-info .
Donc rien n'a été corrigé.

On voit donc que le boot-legacy part en vrille.

Et que boot EFI reste impossible car aucun fichier n'est présent.

On sait simplement que si tu avais réparé, la réparation aurait été LEGACY et pas  EFI car.

Bon, j'ai trouvé pourquoi boot repair ne marchait pas, j'avais lancé une instal apres qq modif qui avait bloqué, et eait restée en arrière plan.
j'ai donc redémaré tout, passé le bios en UEFI puis mancé la live usb session
j'ai lancé boot-repair et ca a fonctionné
voici donc le nouveau boot info au cas ou

et le message qui va avec dans la fentre popu up de boot-repair, au cas ou aussi:

(et desolé, je sens que ca enerve un peu ma manière de faire, mais je ne suis pas du tout informaticien (je suis paysan), et du coup je fais des trucs sans trop comprendre a partir de ce que vous m'indiquez, et jusqu'ici j'ai presque toujours réussi a résoudre mes problèmes...)

Je voulais simplement te dire que tu avais perdu du temps...

J'ai noté que le début du boot LEGACY est dans le bon sillon.

En fait, cela déraille. Il en manque pas mal!

Bon j'ai redémaré et j'ai toujours le message bootdevice not found

je refais donc dans cet ordre les choses:
-bios en uefi (echap puis f10 puis bios en uefi)
- lancement live usb
- terminal (alt T) puis: sudo apt install dosfstools mtools
puis instal et lancement boot-repair (via terminal)
puis reparation boot
- gparted : je cré une partition de 1075mio en fat32 avec flag boot et esp
et une partition du reste de mon dd en ext4 sans flag
- je lance ensuite l'instal de ubuntu via ma live usb, et faute d'avoir compris quoi faire en partitionnement manuel, et apres avoir lu le paragraphe 2.6 de la page "ordinateur en EFI" du site ubuntu, je valide en instal automatique complete.

et a j'attends ... que ca s'installe

Dommage de ne pas dire exactement ce qu ' il met , c ' est justement cela qui a le plus de chance de nous mettre sur la bonne piste pour resoudre ton soucis .

le dernier boot-info , qui ne devrait pas etre different du 1er d ' ailleurs puisque tout 2 fait apres une fresh install ( du coup , retour à la case depart probablement ... ) :

merci.
dois je refaireune live usb d'installation en efi du coup ou celle que j'ai fera l'affaire? (jai cru comprendre que la version de la live usb pouvait changer qq chose?)

pour le client mac addr, ce sont ensuite des chiffres et lettres par 2 mais rien de lisible
je pourrais les copier une prochaine fois si besoin?

j'ai tenté de faire comme root75 mais ca n'a pas marché, peut etre n'ai je pas tout bien fait, d'ou ma description detaillée de l'autre soir

la je vais refaire un boot-repair apres mon instal réussie de ubuntu en legacy pour voir.
puis aller bosser, retour ce soir!

Salut , il faut que tu arretes de reinstaller , le probleme ce n' est pas l' installation par elle meme .

il y a autre chose a modifier , soit avant ( dans le BIOS par exemple ) , soit apres , ce que pourras te dire @geole , si tu sais patienter un tant soit peu , qu ' il ait le temps de te repondre et que tu lui donnes les infos qu ' il  demandera .

generalement , lorsque " boot device not found " s  ' affiche au lancement , c ' est que l' ordre des priorités de boot n ' est pas bon dans le BIOS .
c ' est la 1ere chose a faire .

tu devrais avoir en 1er
clé USB
puis HDD
puis le reste si necessaire , si tu ne sais pas ce que c' est ou que tu n' en as pas besoin , enleve les du boot .
sauvegarde , redemarre .
et donne un boot-info , une nouvelle fois , sans reinstaller du tout , et attend les propositions / demandes de @geole .

Bonjour.
Pour le EFI, on attend que tu donnes un boot-info.
   Les deux pistes seront de créer un fichier de boot-standard.
  ( Réparation standard par boot-repair) puis si nécessaire créer le fichier de boot windows.
Pour le LEGACY. l'autre piste.
   booter en live-usb, lancer gparted créer une table de partition MS-DOS. Quitter gparted puis lancer l'installation en choisissant partitionnement manuel et ajouter tout l'espace libre à une partition ext4 à allouer au point de montage /

Nota. Je me prépare à partir en week-end.

me revoila avec ma tentative d'installer ubuntu 24 sur mon hp probook 6560b
hier, je me suis dis que j'allais reéssayer. J'ai donc tenté d'installer mint a coté d'ubuntu pour voir si il s'en sortirait.

Je reprends donc tout a zero car les posts précédents etaient un peu embrouillés!

J'ai installé ubuntu 24 et tout s'est bien passé (j'ai écrasé le disque), puis j'ai installé mint a coté et tout s'est bien passé... mais toujours le message au démarrage:
BOOT DEVICE NOT FOUND

Je viens donc de booter sur usb, et lancer boot-repair qui m'a édité un boot-info, première étape.

voici le message d'erreur:

The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would purge (in order to fix packages) and reinstall the grub-efi of
sda2,
using the following options:  sda3/boot/efi
Additional repair would be performed: unhide-bootmenu-10s use-standard-efi-file

Blockers in case of suggested repair: __________________________________________

 The current session is in BIOS-compatibility mode. Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware, and use this software from a live-CD (or live-USB) that is compatible with UEFI booting mode. For example, use a live-USB of Boot-Repair-Disk-64bit (www.sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd), after making sure your BIOS is set up to boot USB in EFI mode. This will enable this feature.

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS entry (sda3/efi/****/grub****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !

The boot files of [sda3 (end>100GB)] are far from the start of the disk. Your BIOS may not detect them. You may want to retry after creating a ESP partition (FAT32, 100MB~250MB, start of the disk, boot flag). This can be performed via tools such as gParted. Then select this partition via the [Separate /boot/efi partition:] option of [Boot Repair].The boot of your PC is in BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode. You may want to retry after changing it to UEFI mode.

je suis dans le menu d'amorcage:
je peux passer en uefi, mais il ne me propose alors que trois choix

dans le menu fichier, j'ai une option "mettre a jour le bios système" et je vous cpie ce qui est écris, ca me semble une poste:

Placez le systeme BIOS et fichier de Signature sur une partition FAT32 du disque dur du système ou d'une clef USB amovible dans le répartoire "Helett-Packard/BIOS/Ne"
Verifiez ou ajoutez-les de facon à ce que l'utilitare de mise à jour HP BIOS (HpBiosUpdate.efi) et le fichier de signature se trouvent sur la même partition FAT32 sous le chemnement de répaertoire suivant: "Helett-Packard/BIOSUpdate".
Le BBIOS Système sera mis à jour lors du prochian redémarrage.

J'ai ensuite possibilité d'accepter ou d'annuler
N'y aurait il pas la une piste sur la où il faut agir pour recréer un fichier bootable?

Bon je redemarre donc en mode EFI

ET LA, tres etonnant (pour moi), mon ordi démarre tout seul sous Mint (dernier installé donc premier dans le choix de démarrage) sauf que je n'ai pas vu l'ecran ou on choisit sous quel mode on démarre (choix entre mint et ubuntu normalement)

Mais ya de l'améliortation, il démarre sous mint, il ne me reste plsu qu'a changer l'ordre de démarrage et faire en sorte qu'ubuntu arrive en premier, non?

La suite ce soir, je dois aller sortir les pains du four!

Du coup, suite a ma manip de tout a l'heure, voici où j'en suis:
Vu que mon ordi s'est lancé sur mint tout seul, j'ai cherché à modifier l'ordre du grub.
J'ai trouvé pour cela plusieurs méthodes sur le forum, j'ai préféré utiliser l'utilitaire grub customizer
Dans celui ci, je n'avais de présents que deux versions d'ubuntu (mint n'apparaissait pas!), dont celle qui m'intéresse, 24.04
Je l'ai donc déplacée en haut de l'onglet de customizer.
Puis pour etre bien sur, je l'ai indiquée comme OS par default.
J'ai enregristré et j'ai redémarré.

Et bien ca a marché. Je boot sous ubuntu 24.04. Par contre je n'ai carrément plus de grub au démarrage et ne peux rien choisir, j'ai un écran noir qui reste bien 15 secondes, puis le logo d'ubuntu et ca démarre (lentement).

En tous cas mon problème est résolu.(mais je n'ai plus acces a mint du coup, mais pas grave)
Serait il interessant que je fasse un boot-info pour le comparer a celui de ce matin pour voir ce qui a changé?
Si ca peut servir a d'autres?
