ajout et détection d'1 carte graphique en pci sur ma ubuntu
Bonjour à tous, je cherchais à avoir 2 écrans pour pouvoir travailler proprement.
Ma CG est une ATi radeon avec un seule sortie VGA.
Alors j'ai trouvé une petite carte graphique sur port pci pour brancher mon 2eme écran
J'ai encore jamais eu a faire reconnaitre un materiel sous linux et encore plus à configurer un 2eme écran via ma debian.... et en plus je suis dans un cyber car j'ai plus le net...
Voila Comment faire?
Si quelqu'un a des sources sympa que je puisse étudier chez moi... face au pb

et commetn faire si je suis pas connecté à internet pour pouvoir choper les drivers? à moins que le cd les possède...

En faisant un petit lspci
la carte graphique pci s3trio VGA est bien détectée.
Comment faire pour que mon écran s'allume? installer les pilotes sans internet sous la main...
Et surtout quel logiciel utiliser pour configurer mes 2 écrans ( à moins que ce soit réalisable par ligne de commande ce qui ne me rebute pas 
)

sous synaptic installer:
fglrx-control
mais je me rapelle plus la ligne de commande dans un terminal !!!
ou installer le driver 3D proprietaire ATI sous dapper:

là vous allez pouvoir régler vos deux ecrans avec fglrx-control dans les applications

heuu en fait ma carte ati radeon fonctionne tres bien!
C'est l'autre carte que je veux installer!la carte graphique pci s3trio !
a priori vu que c'est une vieille carte les pilotes doivent etre sur le cd d'installation de ma dapper.
en tout cas ce que tu me dis raspouille j'iumagine que c'est le meme mode d'emploi pour n'importe quel materiel en gros? ou non

Faut pas qu'il y ait deux section "Device" (une pour chaque carte) et deux section "Monitor" (une pour chaque écran) dans ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf, et bien entendu, lier le carte graphique voulu à l'écran voulu dans la section "Screen" ?

salut ca y est j'ai une connexion internet à la maison mais j'ai pas les 2 écrans de branchés.... bon j'ai édité mon fichier xorg.conf et fait les modif que bergy m'a donné grâce à son lien.. bon ç a a pas marché... pour d'autre raison que celle que je crois je pense parce que je suis pas encore un kador dans l'ajout de matériel sous linux.. j'ai aussi pas su trouvé le bus id de ma carte graphique pci (pcitweak, scanpci...)
en gros je sais pas ou est le problème...

bé non je pense pas avoir installé le pilote... mais il la reconnait...
tout ce que j'ai fait c'est de la branché et basta....
je sais que sous windows il te dit " qu'un nouveau matériel a été détecté veuillez insérer le cd contenant les pilotes....gnagnagna"
béé non pour le moment j'ai rien fait de plus que de brancher ma carte sur un port pci et de modifier mon fichier xorg.conf

Le pilote, il est inclu dans Xorg, et pour connaitre l'ID PCI de la carte :

alors ce que je ne vous ai pas raconté c'est que je l'ai testé ce fichier xorg.conf en faisant un :
/etc/init.d/gdm restart
et pas moyen de redémarrer le serveur x
mais je vias tester si ma carte vga s3 foncitonne seul apres je retesterai les 2 écrans...

EndSectionje redémarre gdm et branche mon cable d'écran sur la CG pci s3 rien du tout .. et je bascule mon cable sur ma carte pci-express : écran bleu avec demande de reconfiguration de gdm...
avez vous des commandes pour voir afficher d'ou vient le probleme?

essaye en vesa normalement ca marche avec toute les cartes.
J'ai vue aussi que tu a mi la S4 par default en 24 bits 1024*768 mais cette carte peut elle affiche cela ?

c'est pas faux... avec un 1mega de memoire....
je l'ai mis en 800x600
mais l'écran ne sort toujours pas du mode veille...
