Problème impression Brother DCP-J772DW [RESOLU]
Bonjour à toute la communauté,
je poste mon premier message sur ce forum car j’ai un soucis avec mon imprimante Brother DCP-J772DW : elle n’imprime pas (en revanche elle scanne avec Simple scan…).
J’utilise Ubuntu depuis quelques temps mais vraiment de manière sporadique (j’ai plusieurs ordis et je confesse utiliser souvent ceuw sous Windows) et pour un usage basique (traitement de texte, calcul, navigation internet) donc je me considère comme débutant.
Jusqu’à présent lorsque je rencontrais un problème je trouvais la solution en farfouillant sur ce forum ou avec des tutos youtube. Là j’ai trouvé des sujets similaires à mon problème mais aucune des solutions proposées ne fonctionne donc c’est pourquoi je poste ce message.
Pour résumer j’utilise un vieux coucou que je faisais tourner sous Ubuntu 16.04 car il n’a que 2 giga de RAM. En début d’année, avec la fin de la prise en charge du 16.04, je suis passé à la 18.04. Je précise que j’ai installé cette nouvelle version à partir d’un fichier officiel gravé sur DVD, je n’ai pas fait un « upgrade » à partir de la 16.04 (j’ai un doute car c’était il y a plusieurs mois mais il me semble bien que ça soit le cas).
Bref mon imprimante Brother DCP-J772DW qui scannait et imprimait sans problème jusqu’à présent n’a plus imprimé depuis son passage à la 18.04. Dès que je lance une impression l’état de l’imprimante passe en statut « Traitement en cours - Waiting for printer to become available. ». J’utilise l’imprimante en USB et j’ai essayé plusieurs ports sans succès. Dans « propriétés de l’imprimante » et « comportement » sont statut est bien « activée ».
L’imprimante a été installée à partir des fichiers dispos sur le site Brother et en suivant la marche à suivre suivante :
« Step1. Download the tool.(linux-brprinter-installer-*.*.*-*.gz)
The tool will be downloaded into the default "Download" directory.
(The directory location varies depending on your Linux distribution.)
e.g. /home/(LoginName)/Download
Step2. Open a terminal window.
Step3. Go to the directory you downloaded the file to in the last step. By using the cd command.
e.g. cd Downloads
Step4. Enter this command to extract the downloaded file:
Command: gunzip linux-brprinter-installer-*.*.*-*.gz
e.g. gunzip linux-brprinter-installer-2.1.1-1.gz
Step5. Get superuser authorization with the "su" command or "sudo su" command.
Step6. Run the tool:
Command: bash linux-brprinter-installer-*.*.*-* Brother machine name
e.g. bash linux-brprinter-installer-2.1.1-1 MFC-J880DW
Step7. The driver installation will start. Follow the installation screen direction»
J’ai désinstallé et réinstallé plusieurs fois mais ça ne change rien. J’ai fait aussi les manips recommandées sous Cups (annuler la tâche, la relancer, arrêter l’imprimante, la relancer ) mais sans succès.
Dans d’autres topics il y a une piste parlant de « une différence entre la 16.04 et la 18.04 est le remplacement du paquet libsane par libsane1. », mais soit c’était du chinois pour moi ce qui était préconisé sur ces messages soit les lignes de code que je tapais ne donnaient rien. Et le problème semblait concerner des scanners (Epson en plus) et non pas l’impression.
Bon j’ai lu un topic sur ce forum disant qu’il y avait des infos à apporter afin de faciliter l’aide éventuelle de la communauté alors voici le chapitre « infos utiles » :

Pour nettoyer :
Pour supprimer tous ces fichiers de configuration devenus sans objets et marqués "rc", et uniquement ces fichiers, exécute :
dpkg -l | awk '/^rc/{print $2}' | xargs -r sudo dpkg -P
Pour info, les précisions de nany, pour la commande de nettoyage et une possibilité d'automatisation.

Essaye :
sudo systemctl restart cupsrepris dans ce fil > [Résolu] Imprimante par défaut...
Conseils pour les nouveaux demandeurs et pas qu'eux

Bonjour,
merci du retour, la commande de nettoyage a fait du nettoyage visiblement (je n'ai pas trop compris pourquoi je devais faire ça, je suppose que c'était toutes mes installations qui avaient cumulées beaucoup de fichiers...)
Par contre la commande sudo systemctl restart cups ne donnait rien. Ça me demandait mon mot de passe et après ça faisait rien.
J'ai fini par aller dans cups et dans imprimante j'ai fait comme si j'ajoutais une autre imprimante (j'avais essayé de le faire l'autre jour mais ça me demandait mes identifiants et je ne m'en rappelais plus... J'ai retrouvé tout à l'heure le post-it où j'avais écris tout ça et cette fois j'ai pu aller au bout).
Avec l'imprimante ajoutée ça marche... Bon du coup j'ai deux imprimantes sur l'ordi mais une seule physiquement mais l'essentiel c'est que ça marche. Je ferai avec car je ne vais pas m'aventurer à virer l'imprimante qui avait été installée par défaut.

Proposons donc de parfaire le nettoyage. J’appelle ça faire les poussières, car dans les faits, on va supprimer des fichiers de configuration qui ne sont pas forcément volumineux. Bon, chez certains, la liste des fichiers de configurations résiduels peut s’avérer bien longue et les poussières deviennent des moutons. Donc ça ne mange pas de pain de faire ces poussières avec cette commande :dpkg -l | awk '/^rc/{print $2}' | xargs -r sudo dpkg -PTraduction :
Si il existe des paquets désinstallés mais encore configurés, alors on fait une purge pour supprimer les fichiers de configuration.

Oui merci, j'avais fait la ligne de code avant d'ajouter la nouvelle imprimante car le problème n'était pas résolu.
