HDD défectueux ? Est-il mort ?
Bonjour,
Il s'agit d'un DD interne (WD blue) de 6TB. Il fonctionne normalement sauf que très souvent il devient complètement inaccessible mais revient à la vie après un reboot. Un smartctl -a renvoie ça :

J'ai déjà racheté un disque neuf et je suis en train de copier les data sur ce nouveau disque et j'ai un backup complet ; donc pas de perte de data à craindre. Mais est-ce que ce disque est vraiment bon à jeter ?

Après de plus amples investigations, j'ai découvert une bizarrerie : le gestionnaire de partitions ne détecte pas la partition ni le point de montage :

Bonjour.
Au vu du contenu des compteurs, rien de spécial n'est signalé.
Mais des erreurs ont été rencontrées. La dernière date de 15 heures.
Error: ABRT 8 sectors at LBA 0000000
Cela peut-il correspondre à la perte de ton disque.
Nota, le secteur 0 contient la table de partitions. Du coup, tu ne peux plus accéder au contenu des partitions.
La cause ABRT veut dire que la commande n'a pas été exécutée.
Les causes sont multiples .
Une commande mal fabriquée et incompréhensible par le firmware.
Un faux contact dans le câble SATA voir l'alimentation électrique.
Le disque qui a trop chaud et qui se stoppe le temps de refroidir un peu.
etc...
Essaie aussi cette commande
sudo smartctl -s on -H /dev/sdX
en remplaçant X
Que signifie « Erreur. ABRT » ? Le registre d'erreurs indique que la définition de ABRT est la suivante : Bit 2 - ABRT (commande abandonnée) est défini sur un pour indiquer que la commande demandée a été interrompue car le code de commande ou un paramètre de commande n'est pas valide, la commande n'est pas prise en charge, une condition préalable. car la commande n’a pas été satisfaite ou une autre erreur s’est produite.

Bonjour , dans le retour de lsblk que tu as donné , on y voit :

ce disque là ne comporte pas de table de partition .
la recuperation sera bien plus difficile sans table de partitions en cas de soucis .
je ne suis pas sur que ce soit le disque qui pose probleme , mais bien possible . le fait de ne pas avoir de table provoque peut etre un bug lorsqu ' il essaie d' y acceder .
il faudrait qu ' on est un retour indiquant le nom du disque ou le label , je ne suis pas chez moi , et ma memoire fait defaut ) mais logiquement , ca pourrait etre indiqué avec une commande :
lsblk -fe7 -o+label,model

Effectivement, c'est bien le disque que iznobe pointe qui pose problème (/dev/sdc).

En l’occurrence, inutile de s'acharner pour récupérer les données. J'ai racheté le même disque hier et je suis parvenu à recréer un backup en local (disque sde1). Donc, s'il faut le reformater, je le reformate.
Pour l'instant, j'ai installé TestDisk mais après un quick search, il n'a trouvé qu'une partition fat32. Surprenant vu que ce disque n'a jamais eu autre chose qu'une unique partition ext4.
Je suis en train de faire un deep search et voilà où ça en est:

il faut que tu crées une table de partition GPT puis une partition à l' aide de gparted .
Laisse tombe testdisk , c ' est pour de la recuperation de fichiers / partitions , inutile puisque tu as fait un backup sur ton nouveau disque .
Une fois la table GPT en place , surveille regulierement à l' aide de smartctl le compteur d' errreur mis en evidence par @geole .
Si il continue de s ' incrementer , alors le disque à rellement un soucis , et il faudra te le faire remplacer si encore garanti .

Face au tollé général, j'ai abandonné testdisk pour emprunter la voie du reformatage. Ce dernier s'est passé sans trop de soucis même si j'ai du m'y reprendre à 2 fois pour créer la partition car, à la première tentative, la partition n'a bizarrement pas été créée.
Mais dès que j'essaye d'écrire sur le disque, c'est d'abord affreusement lent puis ça finit par planter :
rsync: readdir("/media/herby/DATA/RV/Data"): Input/output error (5)
J'ai fait différents essais par différentes méthodes mais rien à faire ; dès que j'essaye d'écrire sur ce disque, ça plante !
Je crois que je suis bon pour envoyer les faire-parts pour son enterrement...

Avant de créer une partition, il faut créer une table des partitions (gpt obligatoire si la taille du disque est de plus de 2 Tio).

Mais dès que j'essaye d'écrire sur le disque, c'est d'abord affreusement lent puis ça finit par planter :

Comme le -H n'a rien donné, essaie
sudo smartctl -s on -x /dev/sdd
Au moment de cet incident essaie de voir s'il y a une trace. Tu donneras ce retour.

c' est un disque à technology ASR ? ( Asynchronous Signal Recovery )
à part ces compteurs là , je ne remarque pas grand chose de flagrant :

J'ignore s'il s'agit d'un DD ASR. Et je ne pense pas que mon dock soit limité à 2To. Cependant, depuis que j'ai branché le disque sur ce dock USB, il fonctionne normalement. Je suis en train de recopier toutes les données dessus et j'essaierai de le rebrancher en interne une fois terminé.
Update:
Lors de la copie, le disque source (le nouveau) s'est mis à présenter les mêmes symptômes (le disque devient inaccessible). J'ai donc ouvert la tour, tout débranché puis rebranché proprement. J'ai relancé la copie et, pour l'instant, tout va bien...

Fais un rapport smartctl du nouveau disque source.
Pourvu que ce ne soit pas une panne de connexion du port sata de la carte mère. Tu peux essayer avec un autre port. Souvent, il y en a quatre, quelquefois six.

J'ai profité d'avoir les doigts dans le cambouis pour enlever le disque NTFS (anciennement /dev/sdb) que je n'utilise plus. Donc le nouveau disque se trouve maintenant en /dev/sdb.
Et la copie se poursuit sans problème depuis. Une fois terminée, je remettrai le vieux disque en interne à la place du nouveau et je le surveillerai comme le lait sur le feu.

Bonjour , je ne sais pas ce que c' est comme ordi et carte mere , mais tu devrais songer à verifier / faire une mise à jour du BIOS ,en particulier si tu ne l' as jamais fait
Il s'agit d'un ordi fraîchement mis à jour avec une MSI Z690-P DDR4 et un i5-13600k installés il y a tout juste 1 mois. J'ai mis le bios à jour à l'installation.

Je ne suis pas un fin connaisseur des rapports samrt mais cette ligne signifie que le disque a subi 57 arrêts brutaux, j'ai bon?
La recopie des données du nouveau disque vers l'ancien vient de se terminer sans problème. Je viens donc de remettre l'ancien disque à son emplacement d'origine. Jusqu'ici, tout va bien...

Oui tu as bon dans l'interpretation.
192 0xC0 Power-off Retract Count Indique le nombre d'arrêts d'urgence, c'est-à-dire, le nombre total d'arrêts non sécuritaires du disque dur, souvent causés par un arrêt forcé de l'ordinateur ou un choc violent.
Cela fait quasiment deux par heure.

peut etre une alim trop faiblarde ? en tout cas ce c ' est pas normal du tout , et à ce rythme là il faut t ' attendre a ce que le même sort que l' ancien disque arrive à ton nouveau .
Fais aussi un rapport de tout tes disques histoire de voir si le probléme est general ( alimentation ) ou pas .

Ce disque est une antiquité mais il fonctionne toujours.
Concernant le WD 6TB(le vieux), je l'ai donc réinstallé il y a 2 jours maintenant et, depuis que j'ai tout débranché puis rebranché proprement, plus aucun souci. Il s'agissait donc certainement d'un problème de connexion soit avec la CM, soit avec l'alim. Je verrai si ça se confirme avec le temps mais, pour l'heure, le problème semble réglé.
