Dual Boot windows 11 / xubuntu 24-04 L, démarre uniquement sur win11 !
Bonsoir,
J'ai du installer un win11 sur un PC DELL OptiPlex 3060 (SSD 120GiB, 4Gb de RAM, proces Dual Core), qui n'acceptait pas l'installation de xubuntu 24-04-1 LTS !
Une fois installé j'ai lancer le "dell-command-update" via win11 pour réaliser une MAJ (avec celle du BIOS)..... ce qui m'a permis d'installer xubuntu 24-04 LTS, et j'ai pris l'option de l'installateur xubuntu et laisser win11, ce qui fait qu'en théorie je devrait avoir un Dual Boot win11 / xubuntu 24-04 LTS.
J'ai vérifier en relançant le LiveUSB, et utiliser Gparted : la Partition de 30GiB en Ext4 (avec 11GiB d'utilisé) est bien présente...
Malheureusement je constate que le PC ne démarre que sur win11, écran noir jusqu'au lancement de windows et pas d'écran d’accueil pour choisir sur quel OS démarrer !
Si quelqu'un a une idée de solution pour pouvoir disposer d'un Dual Boot opérationnel, je reste à l'écoute

Merci pour ta réponse,... je vais juste devoir attendre lundi soir, car je n´ai pas le PC sous la main,..... il est dans le local de notre FabLab / Repair-Cafe...
Il fait parti d´un lot de PC DELL, qui vont avoir une nouvelle Vie (celui qui devrait fonctionner en Dual Boot, est le seul qui n´avait pas accepte l´install de xubuntu....) je fais suivre les infos au plus vite ;-)

La réponse est explicitement donnée dans le rapport. Tu as installé Ubuntu en mode Legacy alors que ton Windows l'est en UEFI. Tu n'as aucun GRUB dans la partition efi. Et tu bootes dans le mauvais mode :
The firmware is EFI-compatible, but this live-session is in Legacy/BIOS/CSM mode.Désactive l'option CSM ou la compatibilité bios, et fais la réparation de boot-repair. Autre option, tu réinstalles ton Linux en UEFI.

Merci pour ton message, mais j'ai du démarrer une session LiveUSB pour pouvoir lancer le "Boot-info" (du fait que le PC démarre uniquement sur win11)...
La clé USB que j'utilise a été générée via "Gnome-Disk-Utility",... LiveUSB que j'ai également utilisée pour installer Xubuntu 24-04 LTS sur tous les autres PC DELL Optiplex (PC qui sont identiques) qui ont accepté l'installation....
Faut-il dans ce cas que je génère une nouvelle LiveUSB si je prends l'option de réinstaller Xubuntu (option la plus rapide) ?

Normalement, il faut que tu conserves le boot EFI prioritaire surtout en bootant avec le support d'installation
Tu pourras alors faire la réparation recommandée et boot-repair mettra à jour la partition de boot EFI

Le mois que l'on puisse dire c'est que la cohabitation Linux / windows est compliquée !!
Sur les anciennes versions, je n'ai aucun souvenir de difficultés de la sorte pour faire fonctionner un PC en Dual-boot

Les vieux ordinateurs sont LEGACY <=> LEGACY
Les futurs ordinateurs seront EFI <=> EFI
Les ordinateurs actuels offrent le panachage en plus mais les logiciels de dual boot ne savent pas le traiter.
