Clé USB WIFI non reconnue.

Bonjour,

Je possède une clé usb wifi US Robotics 805423. Ubuntu ne semble pas la reconnaître.
C'est comme si elle n'existait pas pour lui.
J'ai essayé de la changer de port USB, de redémarrer mais rien n'y fait.

Je suis sous Ubuntu Hardy (32 bits) et les dernières màj sont installées.
Notez que sous vista, la carte fonctionne très bien, ce n'est donc pas un problème matériel.

ca doit etre un clef recente, car tres peu de site la réference.je l'ai meme pas trouvé sur le site us robotics

Apparement, elle devrait fonctionner en installant le driver windows avec ndiswrapper :

Merci pour la réponse.
J'avais essayé d'installer le driver avec ndiswrapper mais ça ne fonctionnait pas (le driver s'installait bien mais ndiswrapper disait que le périphérique n'était pas présent).

Le plus mystérieux, c'est que après une réinstallation d'ubuntu (pour une autre raison), la clé fonctionne correctement (à première vue) et détecte les réseaux présents sans que je n'ai fait quoi que ce soit.
La seule différence avec l'installation précédente est que j'avais connecté le cable réseau avant l'install. Peut être que certaines màj se sont faite durant celle-ci et ont donc permis à la clé de fonctionner.  Je sais pas.

Je suis content que ça fonctionne, mais frustré de ne pas savoir pourquoi...

tant mieux pour toi que ça fonctionne...dommage pour l'inconnu, mais comme t'a réinstaller on se saura pas..

pense a éditer ton sujet pour rajouter [résolu]

Voilà, voilà. Merci pour l'intérêt que vous portez à mon problème.
Je vous refais vite un petit historique pour que vous compreniez mieux.
1- J'ai installé Ubuntu et essayé tout les moyens que j'ai trouvé sur le net pour installer ma clé WIFI (dont la méthode avec ndiswrapper). Elle n'est jamais apparue. (comme si elle n'était pas branchée).
2- J'ai du refaire une nouvelle installation d'ubuntu.
3- Je ne me suis plus occupé du tout de ma clé (pas d'installation de drivers linux ou windows, je n'ai même pas installé ndiswrapper).
4- Par hasard, j'ai remarqué que le wifi fonctionnait parfaitement.
5- Au redémarrage suivant, de nouveau plus de Wifi. Du fait que j'ai un peu galéré pour configurer mon écran large, j'ai bien du redémarrer un 20aine de fois depuis et la clé n'est jamais réapparue.
6- Je suis parti ce matin avec le pc démarré dans vista (je sais, c'est pas bien, mais bon...). Il a du planter (une surprise?) car quand je suis rentré, il avait rebooté sous ubuntu et, miracle! la clé refonctionnait à nouveau. Mais pour combien de temps?

Les retours de commandes qui suivent sont donc ceux de quand la clé fonctionne. Dès qu'elle disparaîtra à nouveau, je vous reposterai les résultats des mêmes commandes.

Notez que quand j'ai passé les commandes ci-dessus, j'étais encore connecté à internet via le cable bien que le wifi etait opérationnel.
Je sais pas si c'est utile de le savoir pour interpréter les résultats des commandes.

Ca sent le "switch logiciel" qui désactive le wifi, faudrait voir si dans le bios il n'y aurait pas une option qui permetrait de l'activer dès le démarage...ou à l'instar des iwl3945, faire une petite modif dans un fichier pour la forcer à s'activer

Ma clé a un chipset Atheros.
Elle fonctionne toujours bien que j'ai essayé de redémarrer plusieurs fois. Je touche du bois et referai appel à votre bonté si ça refoire.

T'es sur que c'est du atheros, car d'apres le lsmod donnée en retour, moi je vois du zydas...

Sinon, les chipset Atheros sont relativement bien supportés sous ubuntu...a moins que ce soit un chipset vraiement recent...

Pour le chipset, j'ai mis ça de mémoire, il me semblait,... Mais après vérification, je suis plus sur. En tout cas, le driver est zd1211rw et il semble qu'il soit inclus par défaut.

Sinon, vu qu'elle a redisparu, je transmet le résultat de dmesg. J'en ai mis qu'une petite portion vu que ça défile sans arret dans le syslog.

A nouveau la même chose qu'hier : plantage de vista (ecran bleu, hé oui, ça existe toujours, merci ms) et réapparition de la clé dans ubuntu...

Pour le chipset/modèle de la clef, va donc voir sur la page que je t'ai donné plus au, voir si ta clef est bien une de celles qui s'y trouvent (en photo, en plus). Ca aiderait beaucoup de savoir le modèle exact du chipset et sa révision...

bon sinon, wahoo le dmesg, y a vraiment une merde...bon essaye de voir plus haut ou plus bas dans le dmesg, le pb c'est que la sortie du "dmesg" que tu tape dans la console, va être limité à l'affichage (style que les 200 dernieres lignes), pour remonter dans les logs, le mieux et d'aller dans sytème > Administration > Visionneur de journaux système.Dans la nouvelle fenetre qui s'ouvre, va falloir fouiller dans les journaux : messages, syslog, kernel, user et trouver ce qui se raporterait a ta carte wifi ou au réseau en général,. sert toi de la fonction filtrer dans le menu "affichage", afin de rechercher un terme précis ...lequel ? bonne question lol essaye déjà zd1211, net, athxx (pour les atheros, mais ca m'étonnerais), cherche aussi sur usb ...au vu du dmesg, y a des problèmes, d'ailleurs ca me fait penser a un truc, tu as pas mal de chose de branché sur les usb, essaye d'en laisser le moins possible (laisse evidement ta clef wifi) pour voir si il n'y aurait pas un problème d'alimentation électrique des ports usb.Démarre le pc et teste pour voir ... si tu as toujours le problème, laisse toujours le minimum, et essaye en connectant ta clef usb sur un autre port...

poste en retour ce que tu vois de suspect dans tes logs

J'avais regardé tout à l'heure le log système (syslog)  mais à part cette erreur de l'usb 7-1 (qui correspond bien à la clé wifi), il n'y avait rien de particulier.
Et maintenant que ça remarche, il détecte la clé comme les autres et lui associe bien le driver zd1211rw.

Je vais essayer ce que vous me proposez : j'ai gardé uniquement les 4 périphériques usb qui me sont indispensables (clavier - souris - imprimante et clé wifi) et je les ai branché tous les 4 sur les ports usb principaux de ma carte mère (ça tombe bien, il n'y en a que 4). J'ai débranché les 2 * 2 additionnels connectés directement sur la carte mère et je vais voir ce que ça donne.

Si le problème vient de là, j'investirai dans un hub usb avec une alimentation externe.

Si c'est pas ça, j'ai bien peur que le problème ne vienne de la clé elle-même.

Si je n'ai plus de problèmes d'ici une semaine, je mettrai ce post comme résolu.

t'as regardé dans syslog, bien mais regarde aussi dans les autres...tu peut y trouver d'autres pistes...

Heu l'imprimante t'es peut être indispensable, mais pas pour tester....

sinon, bien d'avoir connecté "physiquement" les 2 ports additionnels, ça permet de mieux répartir les tensions et surtout l'ampérage absorbé par les périphériques usb...mais j'en conclue que tu est sur un pc de bureau, et les problèmes de tension et d'ampérage se posent plus sur les portables, moins souvent sur les fixes.

Enfin la piste de la clef usb défectueuse, c'est plus rare, mais cela peut arriver

ET me revoilà...

J'ai fait tous les tests possibles et voila mes conclusions :
La clé a le même comportement quel que soit le port où je la branche, que les ports additionnels soient connectés ou pas.
Quand je branche une autre clé usb (j'ai essayé avec une clé bluetooth, elle est reconnue immédiatement. Même chose pour l'imprimante, le scanner.
Le problème ne vient donc probablement pas des ports ou de la gestion de l'usb.

Dans kern.log, messages et syslog, j'ai toujours le même interminable défilement que j'ai posté ce midi. Les autres logs ne disent rien à ce propos (logique, c'est pas leur rôle).

J'en déduit que le problème vient de la clé.

Il me reste une interrogation : pourquoi elle fonctionne bien sous vista?  (Il faut savoir que ça n'a pas toujours été le cas, peu après avoir installé ce formidable os (!!),il arrivait aussi que la clé disparaisse et elle réapparaissait 1 ou 2 boot plus tard. Mais ça fait quelques mois que je n'ai plus de problèmes. Sans doute après une mise à jour de chez ms).
Et surtout, pourquoi elle fonctionne correctement après un plantage de windows?

La clé est encore sous garantie mais je sais qu'ils vont la tester sur windows et que ça marchera. De plus, comble de malchance, le magasin où je l'ai achetée a fait faillite.
En un mot, c'est la m..

Sinon, (je sais, j'abuse), j'ai posté un problème ( http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=33399 ) au sujet de xdtv. La, au moins, c'est purement logiciel.
Si t'as une idée..

le probleme vient du pilote surement
les pilotes zd1211rw ne doivent pas encore être nickel et suivant les mise a jours ça peut mieux marcher comme moins bien hmm

achètes une clé hercule hwgusb a peine 25 euros!
et en plus tu peux l'utiliser en mode monitor!

C'est quoi exactement le mode monitor? Sur google, à part des gens qui cherchait comment configurer leur wifi avec ce mode activé, je n'ai pas vraiment trouvé d'explication.

oui,  25 euros, c'est pas cher, mais avant d'investir ça vaudrait peut être le coup d'essayer avec ndiswrapper...

le mode monitor, c'est un mode qui permet de cracker du wifi (a mon humble connaissance : du wep en 2 minutes chrono, du wpa1/2 aussi c'est faisable mais beaucoup plus difficile et plus long, voir impossible avec une clef wpa1/2 complexe.... que l'on me corrige si je me trompe)
