Beaucoup de demarrage possible ??[RESOLU]

Je sais le titre est evasif mais je ne savais pas quoi mettre d'autre :s

J'aurai aimé savoir si c'etait normal d'avoir plusieur possibilité de lancement dans grub quand je dis plusieur c'est a mon avis le double de la normal:

euh... dsl mais ce fichier il me dit pas grand chose... hmm Mais quand tu dis que tu as beaucoup d'entree, qu'entends tu par la? il s'agit de plusieurs noyaux possibles d'Ubuntu? (genre il te propose de demarrer Ubuntu pour tout mais les chiffres derriere varient?)
Si oui, c'est juste que tu as plusieurs versions du noyau installees (a la suite d'une MaJ ou d'un passage de 386 vers 686 ou... par exemple). Il te suffit donc de desinstaller ceux que tu n'utilises pas (tous sauf le plus recent) en utilisant synaptic... Je ne sais pas si ca repond a la question? neutral

Oui c'est bien ça merci, j'ai plusieurs possibilités de noyaux:

Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.12-10-386 et Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.12-9-386

Donc desinstallé l'autre via synaptic, ça va je pense que j'en suis capable *touche du bois*

Pour ceux qui ne souhaitent pas désinstaller les anciens noyaux mais veulent limiter le nombre d'entrées dans le menu proposé par grub, il est possible d'éditer le /boot/grub/menu.lst et d'y remplacer la ligne
     # howmany=all
par
     # howmany=2
(le 2 n'est qu'un exemple, à vous de choisir bien entendu).

Attention, la ligne ne doit pas être décommentée car elle n'est pas prise en compte par grub lui-même mais bien par update-grub lorsque de nouveaux noyaux sont installés.

A chaque noyau, Ubuntu va mettre 2 entrées dans le menu de Grub (une "normal" et une (recovery mode)).

Pour éviter cela, modifier la ligne suivante dans le fichier /boot/grub/menu.lst:

## should update-grub create alternative automagic boot options
## e.g. alternative=true
##      alternative=false
# alternative=false

et faire "sudo update-grub".
Le fichier va être recréer en ne mettant qu'un seule option par noyau.

Je vais vous paretre bete mais je n'ai pas trouvé comment via synaptic effacé un ancien noyaux , j'ai tapé kernel, noyaux mais je ne trouve pas le noyaux a desinstallé :s

cherche linux-image plutôt

Doc à suivre avant une install (Pensez à vérifier le md5 du .iso téléchargé!)

Il y a un moyen de cacher les modes de secours, et de pouvoir les réafficher en descendant juste le curseur, sans les supprimer car ils peuvent être très utiles.
Il suffit de changer la fin de ton menu.lst par ça :
