Par contre, en modifiant le fichier /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf pour qu'il lance le pilote nouveau, après l'avoir redémarré, j'ai ceci comme messages :

$ sudo service bumblebeed restart

Tu peux mettre ton fichier Xorg.8.log quand ça fonctionne avec NVIDIA, et ton fichier bumblebee.conf quand tu essaies nouveau ? Et aussi, si tu peux jeter un œil du côté de dmesg voir s’il y a des trucs bizarres, c’est bien.

Si c’est bon. Un ls du dossier /etc/modprobe.d ?

Par contre, tu n’utilises pas le driver 331 actuellement, mais le 304.

Du coup, ça me donne a priori un argument contre le premier changement, si tu pouvais retester avec un driver 331 ou supérieur, ce serait intéressant.

OK, pas besoin de tester un driver plus récent, c’est dans le 331 que cette option a été introduite, et j’ai vu ce que je voulais voir donc. Du coup, ironiquement, c’est sur les machines qui peuvent en avoir besoin que laisser cette option par défaut induit une légère régression, tandis que sur les machines qui n’en ont pas besoin, cela conduit à une légère amélioration. Bref, on va attendre un peu plus de retours là-dessus avant de prendre une décision.

Pour nouveau, ton problème vient du fichier /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-319-updates_hybrid.conf. Il contient probablement un truc du style alias nouveau off, tu peux supprimer ce fichier sans problème et réessayer nouveau.

@ ArchangeGabriel : Ok je saisi pour PRIME & VDPAU. Gaara et d'autres m'avais dit qu'il fallait un dm pour PRIME mais si c'est spécifique à buntu... D'ailleurs, ces deux lignes à ajouter pour starter bumblebee avec Mint m'on permis de résoudre mon souci, comme quoi, tout ne semble pas si clair que ça suivant les différentes install.

Qu'amène ces dernières modifs (diff etc.), la reconnaissance de l'écran par le pilote nvidia ?

@fcn50: La première modif’ permet aux gens qui veulent utiliser un écran externe sur un port relié à la carte NVIDIA de ne pas changer leur configuration en permanence. Elle permet de démarrer optirun même si la carte NVIDIA n’a pas d’écran connecté (raison pour laquelle nous avions "UseDisplayDevice" "none"), et de détecter correctement un écran s’il est connecté. Seulement, sur les « vieilles » machines Optimus, comme celle de PenguinPdt, la carte NVIDIA semble détecter plus ou moins la présence de l’écran du portable et tente de le configurer, ce qui ne sert à rien et fait perdre du temps.

La seconde modif, c’est une manière plus propre de désactiver la détection des périphériques d’E/S sur le deuxième serveur X, car il ne servent à rien sur celui-ci et que les configurer fait perdre du temps.

Maintenant, est-ce que ce n'est tout simplement pas parce que ma CG - reconnue comme NVIDIA GPU GeForce GT 525M (GF108) - ne serait pas supportée par le driver nouveau.

Maintenant, j'ai beau remettre le fichier bumblebee.conf, sans implémentation de l'option Driver ... il démarre sur nouveau quand même.
Si je mets "Driver=nvidia", il démarre sur nouveau !
Si je change "Kernel=nvidia-current" par "Kernel=nvidia-331-updates", toujours avec l'option "Driver=nvidia", il démarre toujours sur nouveau ?!

Une idée ?

J'aurais dû sauvegarder le fichier avant de le supprimer ... Grrr !

Quelqu'un pour me restituer le contenu, svp !?

@PenguinPdt: Il faudrait le contenu de dmesg correspondant (il y a un grand progrès tout de même, il utilise nouveau quand tu lui demandes, et plus nvidia). Et pour nouveau, dans /etc/modprobe.d, ceux des fichiers bbswitch.conf, bumblebee.conf et dkms.conf. Tu as essayé de redémarrer aussi ?

Euh il y a que ma dans le dmesg ? T’as pas sinon un /var/log/kern.log ? J’ai besoin de voir la partie où nouveau a été testé.

Explication : dans certains cas, nouveau refuse de rendre la main, et après impossible de démarrer nvidia vu que nouveau est déjà là. Après reboot, plus de nouveau puisqu’il ne démarre pas automatiquement, donc nvidia peut fonctionner.

Bonjour à tous,

J'ai fait l'erreur ( :D ) d'acheter il y a quelques jours un HP Pavilion 17-xxxx. Core I7, GeForce 840M. Mal m'en a pris, car je suis depuis confronté aux problèmes posés par Optimus, ayant voulu y installer une Mint 17.1. :D
Après m'être longuement renseigné sur cette technologie, avoir lu de nombreux sujets à ce propos, celui-ci entre autres, j'ai procédé à l'installation de Bumblebee en suivant le tuto de la documentation Ubuntu-fr.

J'ai commencé par Primus en lieu et place de VirtualGL, ce dernier n'étant pas disponible dans les dépôts.
Sans succès.

J'ai changé la version du pilote NVIDIA, j'ai trifouillé dans les fichiers de configuration selon les conseils que je lisais dans la doc ou sur ce fil de discussion.
Puis via le dépôt bumblebee/stable, je suis passé à VirtualGL.
Sans succès.

Re-test de plusieurs pilotes, du 309 au 340, en passant par le 331.
Enlevé, puis remis, les lignes particulières à Mint dont il est fait mention en fin de doc.
Re-bidouillé les fichiers de configuration…
Rien n'y fait.

Dans tous les cas, quoi que je fasse, au moment de lancer mon

optirun glxgears

ou

optirun -b primus glxgears

Je suis inévitablement confronté au même message d'erreur :

Seuls les nombres en début de ligne changent.
Sans doute suis-je passé à côté de quelque chose.

C'est pourquoi je me tourne vers vous. Je peux continuer sur ma lancée ou réinstaller ma Mint pour repartir sur une base propre selon vos conseils.

@PenguinPdt : Désolé, je n’avais pas vu ton message. J’attends toujours un log, et pour ce qui est de le décharger, ça dépend pourquoi il bloque. Tu peux essayer un "sudo modprobe -r nouveau".

Il n’y a rien d’autre après dans dmesg ? C’est bizarre… Et sinon, peux-tu également fournir le fichier /var/log/Xorg.8.log ? (Pas besoin de lancer optirun pour le générer, il doit déjà exister).

Peut-être à force de bidouiller, installer, désinstaller, réinstaller… Je peux repartir sur un système propre si tu penses que c'est mieux.

Et donc pas de Xorg.8.log ? Et rien de plus dans le dmesg ? Jamais rien vu d’aussi étrange. Un dernier truc à tester :

sudo stop bumblebeed (ou la commande équivalente pour arrêter un démon)
sudo bumblebeed -vv

Puis dans un autre terminal, la commande optirun d’avant.
