ATI X1800XL All in WOnder sous ubuntu 64 bit

Bonjour , je suis débutant sous ubuntu, je l'utilise depuis plusieur moi mais j'ai changer de config.

J'ai actuellement un AMD X2 3800+ et une ATI all in wonder X1800XL , et c'est bien la le probleme j'ai voulu passé a ubuntu 5.10 64 bit et la ! ben impossible d'avoir une interface graph , le serveur X ne démarre pas , je pense que cela est lié au faite que ma carte ne soit pas supporter.

J ai donc suivi le tutorial suivant :

Et la les driver fglrx ne fontionne pas non plus , j'ai donc voulu essayer la derniere version des drivers propriétaire mais je n'arrive pas a aller au bout :

Je bloque la :
$ sudo apt-get install gcc-3.4 module-assistant build-essential fakeroot dh-make debconf
j'ai comme réponse "impossible de trouver le module-assistant

Bref je galere , si quelqu'un peut m'aider j'aimerai bien retrouver mon ubuntu

A mon avis il doit te manquer un depot ou trouver ce truc...
dans sources.list tu as quoi?
essaye d'activer tous les dépots que tu peux la dedans et ensuite un sudo apt-get update pour voir et tu recommences ton apt-get etc...

Effectivement , il fallait que j'active les dépots universes, mais je continue toujours ma lutte : maintenant je bloque la :

"sudo fglrxconfig " , il me répond que cette commande n'existe pas!!!

Ce n'est pas du tous pour critiquer , mais j'ai l'impression que ce tuto n'est plus tres a jour.

Malheuresement je n'ai pas les compétences nécéssaire a sa mise a jour.

Et bizarrement je trouve pas grand chose sur la série des ati X1xxx sous linux

voila si quelqu'un peut m'aider

fglrxconfig n existe plus dans les derniers drivers ati
Il faut juste que tu lances un "sudo aticonfig --initial" et mettre "fglrx" dans /etc/modules

et est il encore question du bug "A cause d’une incompatibilité avec les drivers ATI il faut “Downgrader” vers une ancienne version de “libdri.a” " pour la version 64bit de ubuntu

ou bien ce n'est plus nécéssaire?

vi j ai lu ça mais je n'ai pas la version 64bit alors je ne peux pas te dire.
Si ca deconne, faudra peut etre y penser..... si tu as les derniers 8.22.5-x86_64, ils ont peut etre fixé le truc. Mais aucune idée désolé.

Bon ben rien y fait , j'ai tous essayer! J'ai suivi le tuto a la lettre , tous c'est bien passé , pas de message d'erreur.
Le serveur X démarre pas.
J'ai remplacer la librairie : démarre pas
j'ai desactiver la librairie int10 : démarre pas.

Bref pas de ubuntu pour le moment

si quelqu"un a une idée

dans la section monitor met les bonnes valeurs de frequence car la tu depasser pas les 60hz. si ce sont les bonnes ben c ok.Sinon tu me donne le type de ton miniteur je pourrais trouver ca si tu veux.

Ben ça change rien........snif toujours la meme chose impossible de démarrer le serveur x

Mon ecran est un TFT viewsonic VE710b

tu peux faire un lspci et mettre ici le résultat?

(enleve aussi le # devant load "int10" dans les modules tant que tu y est)

bon ben ca a bien l'air d'etre le bus PCI:1:0:0 donc ca ok. arf de arf.

c'est quoi les erreurs cette fois?

(ce sont bien les 8.22.5 version 64 bits que tu as compilés? on ne sait jamais.)

Sinon remplace "fglrx" par "vesa" dans le device de xorg.conf pour voir

J'ai donc a nouveau mis un dièse devant libint10 dans module dans le fichier xconf,

ça ne change pas!

Par contre j'ai mis "vesa" à la place de flgrx dans device et la: Oh miracle j'ai un écran !! le serveur démarre!!

Les drivers que j'ai compiler s'apelle ati-driver-installer-8.22.5-x86_64 run

il me semble que c'est les bon!!!

Je ne comprend rien c'est quoi "vesa" Comme ça se fait que ça marche!

Seul problème : Je travaille habituellement sur une résolution de 1280×1024, et la ben elle ne m'est pas proposé je doit la rajouter je pense dans le fichier xconf, mais ou excatement et avec quel parametre

Je confirme , c'est bien l'action de mettre vesa dans device qui m'a permit d'avoir un affichage le faite de mettre un # ou de l'enlever devant libint10 ne change rien
Si je met a nouveau Fglrx par contre la ! byebye!

Il ne me propose pas le passage en 1280x1024

Ensuite j'ai l'impression que l'accélaration 3d n'est pas active .

Dans application j'ai un icone supplémentaire ATI control mais rien ne se passe quand je clique dessus;

Est ce que par hasard le probleme ne viendrai pas maintenant du fait que j'ai remplacé "libdri.a" par une ancienne version comme vu dans le tuto et qu'avec les nouveau driver ati le bug a été corrigé et qu' il faut garder la version la plus récente .

oui vesa c'est un driver de base, vraiment juste histoire d'avoir un affichage et bien vérifier que c'est bien du à ce fglrx à la noix, pas d'accélération evidement..... grrrrrr les drivers ati....
comme je compte acheter un amd64 dans quelque temps ca m interesse aussi de faire marcher ton truc donc je continue mes recherches.....

1 - bon c'est quoi les dernieres entrées dans /var/log/xorg.0.log ?
2 - que se passe t-il si tu fais un sudo modprobe fglrx ?

En ce qui concerne la commande sudo modprobe fglrx , ben rien ne se passe!!

Mais dit moi si tu veut que je fasse ces commande avec fglrx a la place de vesa dans device ?

donc pas d'erreur au modprobe ok, j'ai trouvé un truc sur un site , je sais pas ce que ca vaut mais bon, on peut essayer alors il faut que tu t'assures que tu es un lien symbolique /usr/X11R6/lib64 qui pointe vers /usr/X11R6/lib
donc un petit sudo ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/X11R6/lib64 si il n'existe pas.
Et remet fglrx ensuite.
Si ca fait rien, balance le xorg.0.log avec fglrx parce qu'avec mesa y a pas d'erreur.

Alors j'ai taper ta ligne de commande , j'ai remis fglrx et là ben ça fonctionne plus :

Voila , je sais plus trop quoi faire , peut etre refaire tous a 0, reinstaller ubuntu, refaire la manip pou les drivers ATI mais sans remplacer la fameuse librairie soit disant incompatible sous X64 et en éditant mon Xorg.conf à l'image de ce que tu m'a mis sur le forum
