Boot KO suite à boot-repair
Salut a tous,
j'ai un problème de boot suite à une succession de manipulations mais je ne comprends pas pourquoi.
J'ai un Dell XPS 13 (2015) 9343 version développeur avec ubuntu 14.04 installé d'origine par Dell (pas de windows).
Dell à configuré le pc avec un partition de restauration Ubuntu en fat + une autre ... Bref mon 14.04 marchait très bien (update en 14.04.5).
J'ai récemment j'ai installer Linux Mint en double boot pour tester, j'ai ensuite supprimé cette partition pour consacrer de nouveau tout l'espace à ma partition 14.04.5 pour l'updater (upgrader / migrer) en 16.04.2. Là encore tout va bien.
Les problèmes on commencés à ce moment là car l'upgrade ne fonctionnait pas depuis 14.04.2 (mais le système était OK), j'ai voulu boot sur live-usv 16.04.2 pour mettre à jour ma 14.04.5 d'une autre manière mais là encore erreur pour faire la migration !!!
Sauf que j'ai perdu le boot sur ma 14.04.5
reboot sur live-usb 16.04.2 pour faire un boot-repair mais malgré la manip impossible de rebooter sur 14.04.5 même en choisissant des noyaux précédents en safe-mode !!!
donc voila mon pc ne boot plus et jen'arrive pas à réparer.
Comment faire SVP ?! :-)

Ton Boot-Info montre que Ubuntu 16.04.2 64 bits tourne bien dans ton ordi. Il ne te reste plus qu'à faire une installation toute neuve et propre de cette version après avoir sauvegardé tes données précieuses sur un DD externe. Pour ce faire, tu peux t'appuyer sur cette doc : Récupérer ses données depuis un live-CD ou live-USB

Bon ba du coup j'ai pas compris ta réponse je pense. Est-ce que tu me conseil d'installer ubuntu 16.04.2 à la place de la 14.04.5 (sur /dev/sda4) après avoir sauvegardé mes données? Par-ce que du coup moi je voulais juste réparer le boot sur /dev/sda4 14.04.5 et récupérer mon système.

Bonjour Chamblard,
Je plussois à Malbo. Prends avantage de ton live USB fonctionnel et envoie tes data dans un disque externe.
Une fois que tes data son en sûreté (celles de ta 14.04 et évetuellement celles de ton Mint), installe ton nouvel ubuntu sur les partitions qui correspondaient à ta 14.04. Si tu n'as pas touché à ton boot Mint et que tu souhaites le conserver, le fait de ne pas toucher à ses partitions devrait permettre au Grub de ta 16.04 de tout remettre en ordre lors de l'installation et d'avoir un boot fonctionnel pour ton nouvel Ubuntu et pour Mint.
Si tu ne sais pas trop où tu vas, c'est vraiment la solution la plus raisonnable.
Boot Repair est un bon outil. Mais il a ses limites.
Et tu aurais peut-être gagné à poser la question du blocage de tes MàJ plus tôt sur un forum. Car il semble qu'à force d'insister, tu as un peu scié la branche sur laquelle tu te tenais
A priori, il n'y a rien de trop grave puisque tes données restent accessibles pour une sauvegarde le temps de réinstaller.
