[RESOLU] Migration 18.04 => 20.04, précautions et méthode
Bonjour à tous,
n'ayant pas trouvé vraiment de réponse adaptée, je préfère ouvrir un nouveau sujet. Voilà, je souhaite migrer de la vers 18..04 vers la version 20.04, mais je souhaiterais m'éviter de perdre du temps dans cette procédure, vu que j'ai tout reconfiguré mon ordi il y a à peine un mois, suite à un plantage de disque.
Voici les questions que je me pose :
1) sachant que je ne souhaite pas repartitioner, mais bien utiliser les partitions existantes, est-il préférable (plus "sûr") de faire un upgrade, ou bien d'installer directement le système, à partir de ma clé bootable, qui elle fonctionne. Je dois dire qu'en théorie, l'upgrade est plus simple, et ne nécessite pas de réinstaller les logiciels tiers, mais en pratique, depuisprès de 10 ans que j'utilise ubuntu j'ai plus d'une fois assisté à un plantage malheureux et définitif lors d'une tentative de mise à jour...
2) je vais lire les réponses que vous pourrez apporter à la question 1, même si je suis très tenté d'installer complêtement. Dans ce cas, quelles sont les commandes les plus simples pour exporter la liste de mes programmes, puis réimporter/installer ces programmes. J'ai fait cela pour le moment :
dpkg --get-selections > liste-des-paquets_`hostname`_`date +%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M`
. J'ai bien une liste, mais comment l'utiliser par la suite ?
3) Y-a-t- autre chose que j'oublierais ? Par exemple, les préférences de Firefox (favoris), ou bien les comptes sur Thunderbird ? a priori, tout cela est conservé dans le /home, mais bon...
J'attends de résoudre un problème de pilote bluetooth avant de me lancer.

Bonjour,
Pourrais-tu faire un Boot-info depuis une session de ton Ubuntu 18.04 installé et donner l'URL de ce Boot-info dans ta réponse ? Cela permettrait de voir comment est faite ton installation actuelle. Parce que dans certains cas favorables, certaines précautions utiles peuvent être prises. Mais ça dépend du partitionnement.

En fait, j'ai également un Windows qui n'est pas bon (j'ai installé malheureusement un 32 bits, or j'ai besoin d'un 64 pour certaines appli).
Et par ailleurs, j'avais une table de partitions un peu merdique, avec notamment un /swap qui s'est révélé non fonctionnel. Je vais donc probablement repartir à zéro.
Pour éviter les problèmes, puis-je laisser juste de côté une partition /home, et laisser faire de manière automatique pour tout le reste (à savoir donc, la partition racine).
Autre question, dans quelle ordre partitionner, dans l'idéal
Est ce que ceci serait bien :
faut-il une partition /boot ?
/ racine
/ home
/ windows

Vous voudrez peut-être réessayer après avoir créé une partition /boot (EXT4, >200MB, en début de disque). Cela peut être réalisé via des outils tels que gParted. Je comprends que tu veux entièrement repartitionner ton disque dur contrairement à ce que tu avais expliqué dans le post #1 ("je ne souhaite pas repartitioner, mais bien utiliser les partitions existantes"). C'est bien ce qu'il faut comprendre ?

bah. oui j'ai changé d'avis, vu que le Windows que j'ai n'est pas le bon, et que cette histoire de swapp m'ennuie. il est arrivé que l'ordi frezze une fois ou deux. en plus le message en bas du boot info est ennuyeux également...

Personnellement je fais un tar du home, je fais la nouvelle instal puis je desarchive. Enfin, je réinstalle les logiciels.

J'ai parcouru tes vieilles discussions et j'ai vu que ton ordi est un HP 350 G1. Comme HP a l'habitude de brider le démarrage sur Windows quand le mode EFI est activé (*), je suppose que tu vas faire ton installation de Windows 10 64 bits en mode LEGACY (non-EFI) puis l'installation de Ubuntu 20.04 dans ce même mode LEGACY. C'est bien ce que tu as l'intention de faire ?

Bonjour à tous,
finalement, après réflexion, j'ai décidé de me séparer totalement de Windows sur cet ordi. Du coup j'ai tout récupéré, et réinstaller la 20.04 en prenant tout le disque et en laissant les partitions par défaut. Ce sujet est résolu, mais j'ai d'autres souci, que je vais évoquer sur le topic dédié.
