Ubuntu 23.10 - impossible d'ouvrir les 2 sessions

Bonjour;

Je me permet de venir demander de l'aide ; je me suis acheté un ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen6 d'occasion sur lequel j'ai installé Ubuntu 23.10, en complément de mon PC pro sous Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

J'ai 2 sessions utilisateur sur le ThinkPad; hier j'ai eu un soucis lorsque j'avais les 2 ouvertes, d'un coup je ne pouvais plus déverouiller ni l'une ni l'autre, freeze quand j'ai tapé le mot de passe. J'ai pu cependant redémarrer le PC proprement via ssh.

Mais depuis, impossible d'ouvrir une session en mode graphique, y compris une session que j'ai créé depuis. J'ai un message "échec du démarrage de la session", différent d'une erreur de mot de passe. Dans le dossier /var/log, seuls les fichiers lastlog et wtmp sont modifiés lors de la tentative d'ouverture de session. Mais ils ne sont pas lisible:

salut,

pour avoir lastlog

lastlog

c'est une base de donnée (voir man lastlog)

pour wtmp : man wtmp

si tu n'as pas de log, ce que je ferai (direct sur l'ordi), c'est me loguer sur une console (ctrl alt F2)  (ctrl alt f! pour revenir au graphique sur ma 22.04) et de lancer un startx, tu auras peut être des messages plus parlant

verifie tout de même tes log xorg des fois que


S'il faut absolument faire des sacrifices pour assurer le progrès de l'humanité, ne serait-il pas indispensable de s'en tenir au principe selon lequel c'est à ceux dont on exige le sacrifice que la décision doit revenir en dernier ressort ? (howard zinn)

Je vous remercie, le premier lien m'a permis de me reconnecter. Par contre cela m'a installé beaucoup de paquets que j'étais content de ne pas avoir, du fait d'avoir réalisé une installation minimale du système. Je suis entrain d'en supprimer beaucoup, en espérant ne pas faire de bêtises !

EDIT Je viens même de comprendre ce qui provoque le problème: quand j'installe "fuse" qui est nécessaire à l'ouverture d'un paquet AppImage, donc à mon logiciel de téléphonie professionnel, j'ai droit à la suppression de tout ça: gnome-remote-desktop gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng gvfs-fuse nautilus shotwell sshfs ubuntu-session xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gnome xdg-desktop-portal-gtk !!

Ce qui explique le problème !!


De mon côté je crois que je vais réinstaller ma version minimale, tout mes logiciels sauf celui là et attendre que le problème ne soit résolu... Heureusement que mon PC pro est en 22.04 LTS !!

bon à savoir. est-ce que tu avais fait un "sudo apt full-upgrade" avant ? dans le bug rapporté il semble que ça suit cette commande (sur 22.04).

faudrait que tu redémarres de temps à autre entre chaque groupe de remove, comme ça tu pourrais peut-être voir quel paquet casse la session.

J'ai simulé l'installation du paquet fuse sur ma Debian 12. Dans le cas présent, ce n'est pas gênant que je n'utilise pas une Ubuntu. La commande renvoie ce qui suit :

L'explication est que sur ta version, le paquet installé et nécessaire est fuse3. Comme on peut le remarquer, on ne peut installer que l'une des deux versions et que l'ancienne version supprime bon nombre de paquets. Conclusion, c'est fuse3 qu'il faut utiliser. Normalement, tu n'as pas besoin d'utiliser fuse.
