Je viens d'effectuer des tests sur un PC portable sous processeur Intel pour tests et là, le port HDMI est correctement reconnu en mode multi-canal.
Donc, je confirme que c'est un problème soit avec l'intégration du pilote AMD HDMI, soit avec la prise en charge des différentes couches logicielles audio dans KDE Neon.
Le problème est que je ne suis pas suffisamment expérimenté sur Linux pour déterminer à quel niveau cela peut se passer : organigramme complet de l'empilement des couches logicielles depuis la carte physique > driver > ??? > ??? > jusqu'au mixer ALSA ou Pulse.
A la vue des logs que j'ai obtenu, j'opte pour une couche logicielle manquante ou un problème de paramétrage. Mais là, encore, je suis perdu dans le fouillis des fichiers de config et de leur ordonnancement (je n'arrive pas à trouver ces infos sur internet).
Si quelqu'un sait quels fichiers de config correspondent à quoi et à quel niveau ils sont impliqués, je pourrais effectuer un débogage. Mais rien n'est simple sur Linux et j'ai l'impression que personne (ni même les devs) ne maîtrisent cette partie.

J'ai fait des recherches supplémentaires sur la gestion des devices ALSA et j'ai trouvé des différences (importantes?) entre un PC qui fonctionne (sur Kubuntu) et un PC qui ne fonctionne pas (sur KDE Neon).
Première surprise : les devices ne sont pas nommés pareil.
Deuxième surprise : La carte son HDMI AMD semble bien chargée au démarrage par KDE Neon mais les capabilities ne sont pas identifiées ou ne sont pas correctement configurées.
Ci-joint la capture sur Kubuntu (qui fonctionne avec l'audio digitale multi-canal en HDMI):

J'ai installé KDE Neon sur un SSD externe et je boote dessus.

J'utilise KDE Neon depuis quelques mois, aucun problème jusque là, c'était bien, mais là gros plantage depuis les dernières maj de kernel.
Le kernel 5.154.0-122 fonctionne bien.
Le 6.5.0-41 aboutit sur un écran noir
Le 6.8.0-45 lance bien la session, mais beaucoup de mes périphériques ne sont pas détectés, le plus embêtant pour dépanner étant l'absence de réseau lan et wlan :

Je me suis raccroché à ce post car il est évident que nos problèmes sont les mêmes. KDE Neon n'est clairement pas aussi fiable que Kubuntu, c'est mieux côté plasma, mais côté kernel et dépendances il y a un réel problème.
