Je confirme : avec ma clé 24.04 LTS une session live (sans install) affiche la bonne résolution 1680x1050. J'en ai profité pour transférer des fichiers sur mon second disque "data".
Avec la commande de nany j'ai pu regarder les logs de l'historique :

Merci xubu1957. Je n'avais pas mis les balises volontairement du fait qu'il s'agit d'une copie vers un autre PC sous Windows. Mais effectivement c'est plus clair pour la lecture. Pour en finir, ta commande

Je commence à envisager la réinstallation de mon système. --> Très frustrant pour moi et pour vous qui avez aidé..
Mais si je réinstalle, j'ai toutes les chances de retomber sur le même problème ! Donc attendre. Je peux me passer de mon Ubuntu quelque temps 
Un moyen de forcer la résolution de démarrage du noyau serait néanmoins le bienvenu.

Avec le sudo ça va mieux effectivement, Hélas ça ne donne pas d'infos supplémentaires, retour au prompt.

jean-mi@T3400-Jean-Mi:~/Desktop$ Rappel : que l'on boote en 6.11.0-17 ou en 6.8.0-52 il en résulte un écran flou désynchronisé dans les deux cas. En bootant via grub l'écran d'accueil est en résolution native (correcte) ainsi que toutes les commandes qui défilent pour l'initialisation. On voit donc que le handler graphique s'initialise avec des mauvais paramètres. Par ailleurs mon ordi ne connait pas uefi ni a de sortie DVI...

Je pensais que mon driver Radeon s'initialisait mal, mais maintenant je ne sais même pas si un driver est installé - libre ou AMD/ATI.
@xubu1957 Merci pour ton lien qui invite à plusieurs manip avec xrandr notamment. Hélas ça n'a rien donné.

Bonjour,
dans "paramètres" => "couleur" essaye de décocher ton écran.
(#23 ça me rappelle un problème que j'ai eu sur le pc d'un ami)
