DELL Latitude D630 et wifi

Bonjour,

Cela fait 8 jours que je cherche dans les forums comment rendre fonctionnel le wifi du DELL Latitude D630 sur lequel je viens de migrer. Il est en double boot sous Ubuntu Hardy. Les divers pages lues m'ont conduit à réaliser les manoeuvres suivantes, sans parfois comprendre complément leur sens détaillé:

- exécuter les instructions contenues dans http://chercheletrouble.blogspot.com/20 … -dell.html

- mettre 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/dell-team/ubuntu/ hardy main' dans la liste des dépôts et effectuer la mise à jour proposée

- exécuter les instructions contenues dans http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/dell_d630, en adaptant pour télécharger sp34152.exe (il me semble que la carte est (dev2)).

Rien n'y fait: les réseaux wifi sont bien détectés (visualisé dans les thermomètres du menu de network manager), mais l'icône wifi de la barre de menu donne 0% de réception. De fait je ne peux pas me connecter. Par ailleurs System > administration > Pilotes de périphériques me signale l'installation et l'activation du pilote de carte NVIDIA, mais pas de pilote pour le wifi....

Je pense qu'il faudrait reprendre les choses à zéro au pas à pas, mais je ne sais pas comment m'y prendre (bref, je ne sais plus trop où j'en suis). Je suis aussi surpris que le network controler wifi ne soit pas 'Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4309 802.11a/b/g (rev 2)' comme indiqué dans d'autres posts (voir plus bas l'output de lspci). Est-ce que ça pourrait-être la source de ma misère ?

Y aurait-il une âme charitable pour me remettre sur le bon chemin... (en n'oubliant pas que je suis 'apprenti linux' dans le domaine)???

Bonjour,

tiens ça c'est drôle, je suis précisément possesseur d'un dell latitude d630 et si il y a une chose qui ne m'a jamais posé de problèmes c'est bien le wifi! autant sous hardy que sous intrepid...! ah non, je dis une bêtise, il m'est arrivé de ne pas réussir à la faire fonctionner car une fois en quittant windows (mais pourquoi suis-je encore en dual-boot???) j'avais désactivé le wifi à l'aide du petit bouton sur le côté gauche et une fois redémarré sur Ubuntu, je ne pouvais pas activer mon wifi...
Et si l'on se réfère à cette page de la doc, http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/dell_d630 , depuis en tout cas Gutsy le wifi marche sans aucune autre manipulation dès l'installation sur ce portable...

ton controller :

et tu postes ce qui correspond à ton controller
ainsi on verra quel pilote est utilisé

je n'y avais pas pensé, mais as-tu déjà essayé de booter sur un live-cd d'Intrepid Ibex? histoire de voir si là c'est reconnu...

Merci pour ces premiers conseils.

1/ Le bouton: c'est ce que j'avais vérifié en premier... c'est bien OK de ce coté

2/ Essayer avec le live CD: je n'ai pas Intrepid sous la main, mais hardy. Mais c'est une idée: je verrai si la configuration initiale était ou non défaillante. Je vais regarder tout de suite.

3/  sudo lspci -vvnn    : le résultat est très bavard !! Voici ci dessous. Si vous pouviez effectivement me dire si oui ou non c'est problème de driver, ce serait déjà un gros progrès...

Re : DELL Latitude D630 et wifi

Bon, j'ai un autre problème: mon live CD a un problème (fichier corrompu), donc il faut que j'en re-fabrique 1 (au plus tôt demain à la fac quand je disposerai d'une liaison internet + rapide). Ceci-dit, l'installation d'Intrepid est déjà proposée comme mise à jour possible par l'update manager. Je n'ai pas donné suite jusqu'alors car je souhaitais avoir une installation hardy complétement 'clean' avant de réaliser l'opération. En effet, je crains qu'installer Intrepid ainsi ne préserve les drivers et paramètres de l'installation précédente, et donc que je me retrouve à mon point de départ du point de vue du Wifi.

La question, dans le prolongement de la suggestion d'Ohmbar: est-il possible de diagnostiquer la cause du problème et d'y remédier avant de mettre à jour vers Intrepid ?
