Plantage aléatoire complet
Bonjour à tous,
je vous écris car j'ai upgradé mon Xubuntu à la vesion 8.10.
En fait, je voulais bénéficier de la dernière version de Gimp (2.6) parce que sous "hardy", je ne pouvais m'installer que la version Gimp 2.4
Maintenant, depuis cette mise à jour de Xubuntu j'ai des plantages réguliers, sans raison apparente, en ouvrant firefox, en ouvrant la session, ou encore une autre fois sans que rien de spécial ne se passe.
Je suis assez ennuyé car la version Xbuntu 8.4 (Hardy) était plus stable et j'ai malgré tout besoin de travailler sous la nouvelle version.

MERCI d'avance à tous ceux qui pourront m'aider à résoudre ce problème. J'ai fait le grand nettoyage avec Windows, le deuil, et sauté le pas. Je ne regrette pas mais pour des raisons professionnelles, j'ai vraiment besoin d'un outil fiable.

Bonjour,
Malheureusement ces logs sont "normaux" (il cherche au boot si une image disque a été enregistrée suite à une mise en veille prolongée, il n'en trouve pas, il fait un démarrage normal). Peux-tu décrire en détails ce qui se passe ?

Malheureusement,
rien de spécial ne permet de dire ce qui pose problème. C'est pour ça que j'avais mis les logs en essayant de localiser le moment où ça avait planté.
Il ne plante pas à un moment particulier ou selon une application, cela arrive de façon intempestive.
Quels logs puis-je voir pour trouver plus d'éléments ?

Regarde du côté de /var/log/kern.log , /var/log/syslog , /var/log/Xorg.0.log (sait-on jamais pour ce dernier)

Je ne sais pas si vous verrez quelque chose d'anormal dans tout ça, j'ai fait des recherches et plusieurs usagers ont décidé apparemment de rétrograder sur Hardy en raison de l'instabillité d'Intrepid Ibex. Donc, je vais peut-être repasser sous Hardy. Sachant que je serai contraint de formater à nouveau puisqu'il n'existe pas d'outils pour downgrader proprement en conservant ses données...

2 interprétations :
1) Premièrement , l'OS peut être la cause de l'instabilité, mais pas nécessairement. Cela peut être le matériel également.
N'as-tu pas changé ton PC de place récemment ?
Dans mon cas, le ventilo était vieux et les ouies d'aération sur la tour du PC étaient collées contre un mur. Du coup le PC chauffait beaucoup trop, et le processeur figeait.
Il a fallu éloigner la tour du mur et remplacer le ventilo par un plus puissant pour retrouver un fonctionnement normal...
2) Sinon je te rejoins sur le fait qu'au gré des mises à jours, des versions, et des OS (par exemple un double boot Ubuntu / Windows), des problèmes apparaissent et se résolvent. C'est assez lourd et usant à la longue...
